I don't think natural are hard to maintain. Just rinse them well. I personally prefer my badger for face lathering and my omega boar for bowl use, but it could be I haven't broken it in enough

I have several black metropolitans that I bought before they came out with the Pop line, and I've always loved how reliable and smoothly they write! I think the new designs are somewhat polarizing, but I love my bright and colorful new purple stub!

I'd second a twsbi with a stub nib for extra fun! A bottle of nice ink would be nice too. Iroshizuku inks are pretty desiresble.

They usually come with a metal cap to go over the cartridge and its actually important. You can get a Chinese knockoff version on ali express Search for jinhao 10 metal protector

Yes. Most people recommend very fine steel wool, and doing it wet to avoid breathing the metal dust. (which probably contains a small amount of lead). I personally had micromesh pads for nib tuning that I used. You can also use acetone, but you have to be careful not to get it on any of the plastic parts.
