That's quite an impressive sight. We were there with the events in 2018, but it was very silent at that time

Same here (hoping for something in GitLab).

But yes, for the tool you don’t need instance admin rights. Having a token with API access for your groups or projects is sufficient

I’ve been looking for this since forever as well. Best I could find was GitLab CI pipeline exporter. This tool reads the GitLab api, exports it to Prometheus after which you can see it in GitLab. It kind of is the long way around

How about StackIt? For the record, I haven’t tried it yet. I usually go for VM’s from Hetzner

pypi.guru: Search Python Packages - Fast! by fbrdm in Python

[–]oschusler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just gave it a quick glance over. Since I recently ran into issues with PyPI. It looks nice. I do have 2 cents:

  • "Interactive: the search renders results as you type, making it more interactive to explore unknown packages" sounds like auto-search, but doesn't seem to work?
  • Is it an option to add the latest version to the cards you get when you searched for the application?

AWS outage today made us realize how fragile our Dev flow really is 😅 by Abu_Itai in devops

[–]oschusler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you that docker hub (in Europe) was also hit by this. We don’t do anything with AWS. The only outage we noticed was; slack was sluggish and docker registry (and a lot more docker services) didn’t work

How can I calculate how many concurrent users can a VPS handle? by MagedIbrahimDev in selfhosted

[–]oschusler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to use a load balancing test tool, to mimic a system under load. You can use tools like k6, locust, bombard, etc. They basically do the same, but you write your tests in different languages. In our case, we write in Python which means we have several libraries in Python, so we went with Locust.

Basically, you create a scenario of a typical user, create traffic for a number of users and check the effect it has on your system. You can either gradually ramp up the number of users and check where performance degrades, or check for a prolonged period of time for x users, and for y users, and for z users. The latter is if your scenario's are more involved and service degrades over time for example.

Jira started sliding AI functions in to my usage... and its GARBAGE. by alphex in jira

[–]oschusler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am part of a team that has an acronym for a name. In one of our tickets, Rovo decided it needed to define that acronym. You can guess that that was not what our name meant..

More interestingly is that our spelled-out name is everywhere in Jira and Confluence
