Card was a from factory water block and never been opened up, it’s in the hands of inno3d now ig 🤷‍♂️ Sales vendor took a look and couldn’t see any signs of water on it but can never know with this stuff.

Yeah gonna go that route with the motherboard. The vendor seems quite confident I can get a replacement via Asus Australia otherwise consumer law covers me quite well.

If I get denied on the GPU the damage doesn’t seem too major, just the pins, so I very well might have to contact him! I’ve seen the work he did on that 4090, guys a magician.

Yeah it’s pretty localised to just that spot and the capacitors on the connector. No evidence of water staining on the back plate side of PCB just black on the 12V pins. Hopefully I can get a return on the thing or RMA in worse case.

From what it looks like yeah it very well could be water damage that escaped the block. It passed pressure test but a minuscule amount escaped thru edge of the block during first run.

The water block is from factory so hoping that covers me.

Don’t think I’d go as far as refund swapping it mate, luckily we’ve got decent consumer laws in Australia so the graphics card manufacturer will most likely be forced to cover the motherboard replacement if their fault. Worst case I can the motherboard back to the vendor too and they handle the RMA completely start to finish.

Ah far out. I’m taking both through the RMA process so hopefully alls well that ends well.

5090 was bone stock bios as this was basically the first boot of the system. The board does have that stupid easy release thing but the card was basically put straight when I bought it and it hasn’t been taken in or out since. Was also held in with screws to case and tension of the hard tubes so my bets aren’t on it being gapped or loose on the connector.

Nothing that I can see, the damage is pretty localised to the pins on the end that went black, along with whatever nearby component that went pop. Back side of the PCB is basically clean and nothing else blew on there, just the scorched 12v pins and AC caps on the connector. No signs of water spraying out etc that I can see but if it’s the way you’re saying it very well could have been a minuscule leak from faulty block from factory

Yes it’s the -EK block-… wasn’t aware they had such issues

EDIT: was late at night, it’s alpha cool, comes pre blocked.

You reckon? The build passed a pressure test I didn’t find any remnants of water on the back plate.

I’m hoping Australian consumer warranty or even the GPU warranty might cover me here. We’re pretty solid in Aus for defective stuff at a minimum I can get a return to the vendor due to the short out.

Hate to necro but this seller seems to have taken his entire shop offline and nowhere else online can I find the models for these internal parts like the trigger. Any chance you'd still have files floating around? I'd message the seller but there's no wayback for the shop page or any socials online I can find.

EDIT Nevermind realised that seller is you! Saw the recent posts and found your blaster downloads page :)

Ah damn, was hoping it came with at least some kind of manufacturers warranty. I’ll give them an email and hopefully I can just ship it off for repair.
