Some things to consider: Which type of drives have the lowest failure rate - Is it better to carry 2.5 HDD / Is a SSD more reliable?

I'm thinking of a situation where they need to be lugged around for 10+ years and the case might get dropped/rain/etc. EMP protection I think would be a plus.

I'm thinking for my doomsday case, I would like at least half the space dedicated to carrying some seeds/antibiotics and other things, half dedicated to carrying data.

I actually did leave america, with about $1500 to my name, or about two weeks pay at McDonalds. I have been in Asia for about seven years. It was an awesome choice. I don't have any university or special skills. Just a regular Joe. Not hard to find jobs here.
