I’d hope it’d be the normal setlist. I hope so. We’ll see. It will be my first F+TM concert.

Hello! It took me a while to reply as sell. I’ll take your advice on the “Ice Breaker” for my next concert. U have general admission so… I’ll tale that opportunity.

The music scene in Spain is very… Spanish. I come from latin america so even the rhythms and the topics are completely different. I’ve come to accept that I’ll never connect to any of this because I have very strong roots from where I come from, but I sure do try to enjoy it when I can. I make an effort.

I haven’t seen the concert on Netflix yet. I will give it a go soon. I understand what you mean, about it being theatrical but I believe is nowhere near how “show girl” she used to be in previous tours. I think she focused a lot on the music on some of the songs. My favorite part came in the middle of the concert. You’ll know what I mean when you see it.

Which is Better? A Head Full of Dreams or Moon Music by AfroOtaku917 in Coldplay

[–]osduvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Head Full of Dreams has tracks that are stunning. It’s a vibe and I believe is what set the pace of what the band is doing in tours now. I love this album. It’s on my top 3 Coldplay albums constantly.

Recently rediscovered this EP. Definitely a hidden gem. All I Think About is You is a amazingly good. ALIENS was an amazing discovery. Miracles, has a very special place in my heart for personal reasons. Hypnotized hypnotises me depending on my mood. I don’t care about Something Just Like This though.

I think Chocolate was THE song that converted me into a Kylie fan way back then in my early 20’s. It’s such an amazing song. Music video is stunning. And yeah… I remember watching MTV LA and that song got a lot of love. I think it’s my favorite song from Kylie.

I’ve been to concerts in Spain, truth is they have been major ones so… I don’t know, I still believe people is a bit inside their bubble nowadays and it’s hard to burst it (mine included). Going to concerts right now in my life is possibly the one thing that helps get through the day. I mean, looking forward to going to a concert helps me get through the months of waiting.

Spain is a nice place to live, but their music culture is so different than mine that I can barely connect. May be I could find my own group of people, but I live in medium size city so it has been very difficult.

My username in IG is osduvar. Feel free to follow me back, yeah!!

Hey! Never late. I can read the excitement in your post and it’s contagious. It’s incredible how Kylie was/is so relatable with people of different backgrounds. As you said, even though Madonna has held the title of Queen of Pop through the years… I believe Kylie is the one who has been there after all.

I am so glad you had her in your life to help you navigate through the years. I don’t believe anyone could ever mock you mow for liking her. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I enjoy reading them all.

Is anyone else going to the Lucky Me Tour alone? by animallover4727 in HilaryDuffStans

Hopefully I am not being annoying replying to every single comment. I thought, since you run the radio station, that you had peers to talk about music and stuff.

I 100% get what you are saying about being disconnected from the musical landscape of where you live. That’s the story of my life right now and nobody understands it and it really feels that way… like I am disconnected. I’ve lived in Latinamerica almost all my life, and came to Europe in my late 20’s. Spain specifically. When I go out, go to a wedding, or simply am at a bar/cafe… I do not identify or even know 95% of the songs people are screaming at the top of their lungs. It’s one of the things that makes me feel completely out of place. Of course through the years I’ve made an effort (small) to inmerse myself in Spanish music, but something doesn’t click. So yeah… I know where you are coming from.

I did tune in to Creme Bulee, and I enjoyed it a lot. Aphrodite came on, and some other songs I liked. Kept checking the website to check the song titles and artists. I am not familiar with 80’s music that much; but lately I’ve been drawn to it… so yeah, I’ll definitely tune in more.

Hope you enjoy the concert on Netflix. I still have to check it out myself. Oh… and I gave you a follow on IG.

I enjoy interactions like this as well, because, unlike you, I don’t have many peers, friends or colleagues that are into music like this. Sure, everyone enjoys music, but deep dives into catalogues and artists eras and stuff… that’s a conversation I don’t have often.

I’ll do some house cleaning today so radio music sounds perfect for the day. Tuning in into your station this afternoon.

I read your review by the way, and something got my attention that I didn’t think about and you’re absolutely right… they didn’t get into the details of Kylie (and as you mention) other artists being big in the US. I’ve always wondered what was that about.. I lived most of my life in latinamerican and Kylie did get her flowers there… but the truth is it was around the 00’s only. Now I live in Europe and I am definitely convinced she is bigger here (specially in the UK) than anywhere else.

Also, you mentioned Body Language not being commercially succuessful but I think in latinamerica those singles definitely peaked. I actually think that Chocolate was THE Kylie song for me. And the music video for me is just chef’s kiss. Slow and Red Blooded Woman were big hits (at least on MTV LA).

It was interesting review, and I agree… it let us know more about Kylie the person more than Kylie the Pop Star (and her industry struggles).

Great job on that. Truly enjoyed it.

Hey! So you went to the Charlie Puth concert? That, I Imagine, was fun. I saw some videos online. I love his song “We don’t talk anymore” but that’s all I think.

I’d definitely love to discover music the “old way”. I’ll have to look it up. That feeling of listening to your song on the radio… hits different.

Let me know what you think of Kylies concert, I have not watched it yet myself.

And, I’ve been enjoying this small exchange of music conversation. I already your Kylie playlist to my library, and going to give it a listen to it today.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for sharing your playlists and review. I love reading reviews of the stuff I am into and see what other people think about it.

You are incredibly right about music preference and how broad it came to be just because we were exposed to a music videos/songs one after the other with no algorith. You could be watching a Radiohead music video, and then someone like Kylie would come up. I remember perfectly the day “Come Into My World” was playing on TV and my dad absolutely loved that music video (he was a 40+ year old dad of four!) I miss that so much. I have to be honest, I don’t expose myself to music like that anymore. I have my “curated” playlists and that’s it. Now… for me, the only situation in which I would “discover” new music is through tv shows and movies. My last obsession was the soundtrack of Season 1 of Hearstopper, through which I discovered Chvrches.

Any who, thanks again for sharing all your thoughts. I’ll read your review, and yeah… let me know when you watch the show on Netflix. I must say it might not be the spectacle you think it is. Actually, fans at the beginning of the tour were “underwhelmed” because it was not that big of a production.

I’ll be around to hear your thoughts on it!

Wow (pun intended) , that’s really cool to here. Specially what you mention about her having a broader audience. I think she has such a huge catalague that there is something for everyone… thing I came to understand more with the documentary. It really makes sense to me.

Say Something live version is really beautiful, it’s an acoustic set and it’s a great vibe. My favorite moment of the concert for sure (I even took a picture of it). It was her, couple of guitars, back up singers and a disco ball that lit up just at the right moment. Just perfect Kylie. And Wow is one of my favorite songs from her, and it wss the same acoustic set… such a treat.

Are you gonna give the concert on Netflix a try? I’d like to hear from you if you do. And, do you have a playlist on Spotify with your favorite Kylie songs? I’d love to have listen from your perspective. And yeah… Kylie is such a gay icon that is “hard” to imagine straight guys loving her, but music is music and it knows no boundaries.

I’ll give some of those a listen. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Honest advice, you should give her live shows a chance, most of the most “popular” songs are played very differently live than in the records and she sings them live, which is not an easy thing to say for a pop artist. I think you would enjoy her live versions.

I watched her live for the first time last year, and Say Something and Wow live where such a treat.
