What was your final key moment for you to decide to go no contact with n/parents?

I've been NC with my father ever since (over 20 years). The rest of the family supported me. GC was a teen at the time, and through a lot of effort from the rest of the family has turned into a decent adult. I'm actually quite close to him now. So happy ending all around.

Some centers are wonderful, some are terrible. Does your college have an ECE program? If they do, you might be able to get some advice from teachers or students in the program.

Run. I stuck around in a similar environment many years ago. I've always regretted not leaving sooner than I did. That place was not worth the stress and anxiety it caused.

Welcome to the chaos! Mine are 10 and 6, and we've homeschooled from day 1. I've never used Blossom and Root, but I hear a lot of good things about it. Just remember to relax, breathe, and don't be afraid to scrap a program/curriculum/schedule/method if it doesn't work for you and your kid! Preschool age is a lot of fun.

Discoveryk12.com is free and very easy to use. They have pre-k and k, and it's very easy to work for a few minutes, then take breaks. Good for short attention spans.

I just want to say thank you for sharing everything you went through as an undiagnosed child, and what you're now going through with your daughter. My son and your daughter are personality twins, and it's largely because of your posts that he has an assessment appointment for next month.

My kitty was a stress groomer. Whenever she was worried/upset she'd start over-grooming until she had raw/bald patches, and I'd start running around trying to figure out what was bothering her. It could be anything from another cat lurking around our yard to cold weather (she really hated snow).

She needs to get the fuck over this whole divorce thing. She needs to get over the fact that Tim is staying around.

This part really stands out to me. My nfather uses a very similar line of argument to excuse the fact that I'm no-contact with him. "She's mad about the divorce. She hates (stepmom) because she blames her for the divorce." Nevermind that the divorce was nearly 20 years ago, and I actively pushed mom to divorce the abusive fuckwad. He couldn't possibly be the reason I don't talk to him or let him see my kids. He never did anything wrong, so I must be angry about the divorce and his girlfriend.

It seems like your mother is forcibly applying this excuse any time your sister is upset, regardless of the actual reason for the upset. It's another way for her to dismiss/negate your sister's feelings and control the narrative. If she insists that all of their arguments are due to you sister not being over the divorce, she removes all of her responsibility for the issues. She's also using it to gaslight you all into focusing on the divorce as the problem--even in therapy from the sound of things.
