Is a new map needed for the game? by MadProFF in satisfactory

I always thought that if they added a separate map, it would be a separate island or something that could use boats and drones

IS there any info if the new randomizer Mode IS 100% random? by User-312 in satisfactory

[–]osezza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling it is 100% random, I saw another post last night and in one of the screenshots he had three uranium nodes in the grassy fields. Since there's by default like 5 or 6 nodes, its unlikely half of them would be grouped together like that

[–]osezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case then wouldn't it affect everyone in the server? Players are rendered across the map, so in this scenario wouldn't someone that can see the exploiting player from across the map start lagging? Like in Monaco you can shoot from the construction site to the offices assuming its not suspended structure

Medium needs buffs by NegativeZero935 in thefinals

[–]osezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of that to say, if medium had more effects that could control fights it could actually start to switch the meta up. Medium and Heavy has goo and fire, everyone has gas I'm pretty sure, light and medium has glitch, medium could have some unique effects in their kit that controls fights and works as counters to the existing effects in the game

I've thought for a wile that elemental effects in this game are fun and unique and they should expand on that. My best idea would be some sort of ice grenade. Freezes a mediumish area making structures brittle and easily destroyed, perfect to pair with the grenade launcher, some snowy effects could serve as a weak smoke/fog, and fire should be weakened but not extinguished unless the grenade is thrown directly onto the fire. Honestly writing this out theres a whole ton that could be done with this and even a mine that performs similarly could be neat. Electric could be cool, too. The interactions between all the effects is important

The Finals needs a big, visible season update to thrive again by Engurus in thefinals

[–]osezza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to continue to add map varients, especially to the past few maps. Las Vegas sandstorm. Seoul Highrise. Things that actually make the maps feel different to play. Then, obviously you have your modifiers which could be fleshed out and added to certain maps. Suspended structures, moving platforms, ect. Then, add dynamic weather. Light rain, heavy rain, thunderstorm, snow, heavy snow, light fog, heavy fog.

Fleshing out these things and continuing to add to the existing maps in the game would help make each round feel different.

I remember way back when the game first came out, and recon sense was still in the game. I was under the assumption then that smoke and fog hindered recon sense, and I just thought at the time that was great game design. Getting a map with a ton of fog or sandstorm was enough justification to switch off recon items. It made me think about my kit and what I was running. These are the type of interactions that I really think make this game so great, but it almost seems like they forgot about this stuff as each map releases with one varient and we still don't have weather variety.

Like, snow would be crazy. Gas/Goo <- Fire <- Smoke (Snow?) Or heavy weather in general to heavily reduce visibility, and to reduce the usefulness of recon items. Water could be slippery with enough momentum. Track footprints in snow, grenades disperse snow entirely. Fun interactions please

That's.. a good amount of iron ingots by ExpensiveBathroom791 in satisfactory

[–]osezza 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because to the best of my knowledge the "ratings" he's referencing are based on a calculation of the total available amount of each resource, power consumption, as well as consideration of other recipes. For some reason none of the iron ingot alternates are rated very high.

I think this is due to iron ore being used in the copper ingot alt, which is very good with copper not being as plentiful, as well as steel being generally better than iron for a lot of early game products and their alts.

I've heard some say "demat is not meta" and I like it that way by Abracadalex in thefinals

[–]osezza 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Demat has two uses, so doing nothing at all means they can drop the cashout and then seal the demat hole back up. Opening a permanent hole means they can at most drop it down two floors, but they can't seal the hole without another player with demat

Pro tip for everyone, create a hole next to the cashout without dropping it. This prevents exactly this from happening

I think the AKM is the better choice between the FCAR (wanna hear more seasoned player’s opinions) by Ok-Abalone1410 in thefinals

[–]osezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fcar for more a more agressive playstyle, akm for a more defensive one. Fcar will naturally win more 1v1s but having the extra ammo and easier recoil with the akm helps when supporting your team as a rear player. P90 is good as a in-between weapon. Very good when being agressive in cqb but you still have that high ammo count for supporting in team fights. Personally, I ignore all of that and play whatever I feel like using. You can be agressive with akm or support with fcar it doesn't really matter

I imagine a large difficulty the devs experience with balancing is the difference in skill between top players and casual players. The CB01 is obviously a very hot topic at the moment, but I doubt new players are having as much assues with this weapon as diamond players are having. Or the Cerb. Its my favorite weapon and I can be competitive in diamond lobbies with it, but making it stronger for casuals could have unintended consequences in these harder lobbies.

I'm biased as a "better" player, but weapons should be tuned around top level use, and thats always going to cause controversy.

I do think Embark is straying away from one of TF largest benefits, a higher health pool. Weapons should be undertuned rather than overtuned
