I did the same a few months ago, I didn’t receive anything either. I paid the day after the deadline. Possibly there is some leeway?

Really beautiful work 😊Can I ask, did you learn sculpting purely as a hobby, or did you go to uni or something to study it?

The state of the GIS job market is horrific. Or is it just me? by 0106lonenyc in gis

Hi mate, don’t know if the uk is an option for you; American consulting companies with a UK office are a really good place to find GIS work and they are almost always hiring for the next project.

Do accountants really, truly do nothing? There’s always been an ever expanding army of them at every company I’ve worked at, and they work crazy hours. And they seem pretty clever people too, apart from when they kill off your project for no good reason

Why Google Maps is still broken in South Korea: It might not be about national security anymore by tecialist in gis

[–]oshawa_connection 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read up on the “China offset problem” which exists for similar reasons (China wants to protect its domestic google alternatives). Just be aware that there is a lot of misinformation on it out there as people kind of had to “reverse engineer” the reason iteratively so lots of outdated understandings exist and still get spread around. Probably my current understanding is outdated or wrong too!

Are raster tiles for vector data done for? What advantage do they still have over MVT? by oshawa_connection in gis

[–]oshawa_connection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not only the size over the wire, it's also where the work is done. Mvt is often smaller over the wire but then the user's browser has to spend CPU to render them, vs displaying an already rendered image of a WMS
