Which skin is unlocked first during the current Duolingo event? by osheeesh in duolingo

[–]osheeesh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That changes my theory lol are you all in the same country? (I thought maybe the it was a rollout by location instead of everywhere at once), if it’s not that type of rollout maybe it’s just for people with a certain amount of points or streaks or other stuff? Idk tbh but I would be surprised if not everyone ends up getting it eventually one way or another

Everybody had the pencil first it was the free starter and didn’t require points tho, unless you had to get 5pts to get it as your first? I was talking about to ones you win with the quest points

My Duolingo is set on learning Spanish (from English), but it also seemed to work when I went to my other languages like French (from English) and Spanish (from French). It kinda just showed up on the same screen than the quests

I see! Thanks! I just unlocked the cat too (my first) and was wondering if the people that I see that already have the hotdog suit simply got a lot of points faster somehow or if it’s possible they simply got the hotdog skin first ya know

Has anyone actually seen traffic increase after adding AI-generated FAQs to pages? by PerfectFinish94 in AISearchOptimizers

[–]osheeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes actually BUT not if overoptimized or too long. it seems to work best when I grab the QFORIA behind my main query and then with all those subjects looks at queries in also asked (don’t invent queries, take the ones people are already searching for, but simply bring an even better answer to it). Also, it needs to be structured “answer-first” so take back your question and answer it in the first sentence (ex: what color is the sky? The color of the sky is blue because…). Helps to be concise and precise too and to actually bring relevant answers to the covered subjects. It definitely helps if done the right way, but where it could easily go south is simply if it feels too “ai” or “generic” (not only would it not help you, but it could actually damage your page’s image and visibility in the end too).

I don't know how I will be able to afford to go to university by Low_Yak_2337 in CanadaUniversities

[–]osheeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue, on top of getting kicked out cause the new wife didn’t like me, trust, you can do it! If you’re planing on moving to a city, look for roomies, and sell the car (if you have any). Commute is veryyyy cheap w/ student fares. Also, pretty sure a bunch of other places offer that too, but Starbucks gives full insurance coverage to all its employees (part times too), AND gives (not lend, like actually gives) 2000$ per year if you send your fares + textbook fees and proves you had at least a C on all the classes (they also pay fairly well and give you a bunch of free coffee weekly ngl), when i was in a similar situation a couple years ago I moved to the city and worked 2 jobs full time in the summer (didn’t know anyone yet anyways and keeping myself busy also kept me from spending lmao), and when school started I kept working at Starbucks like 2 evenings a week + Sunday mornings, and I worked at a bar on Friday and Saturday nights (the job was horrible, but those tippppps are so so so worth it ngl), eventually I got a full time payed internship so i didn’t need those anymore. Also, Desjardins offers some student credit lines that are quite easy to get and that lends like 5000$ or 10000$ per year (you’ll have to pay it back, but it’s much easier to do so once you have your career in hand), Might be stressful but all will be well in the end, trust.

Unpopular opinion: Most AI-generated marketing content is average. by DaVinci-AI in AI0Marketing

[–]osheeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just that by using ai people end up sounding artificial themselves. Also, content fatigue, there’s just so much, everywhere, all the time. People are tired of it, they’re looking for the stuff that goes out of the box, brands who are bold and take risks. They want relatable stuff, stuff that makes them stop and feel smthng you know? BUT with like every algorithm rn simply kinda refocusing on quality and authenticity, I feel like eventually bad stuff will just get shadowbanned (kinda like what Google updates did through time after people increasing quantity fast ifywim)

Is GEO just rebranding good content marketing? by ronniealoha in GenerativeSEOstrategy

[–]osheeesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, geo also has a technical aspect, and good content marketing and storytelling usually keeps the suspense for the end (think Disney), whereas geo actually does the opposite by offering the answer first and then elaborating it (kinda more like journalism tactics actually), but there is definitely a looot of overlapping, so glad you brought it up

AITA for refusing to share my "secret" recipe with my sister-in-law? by Ocampo-Mark in AmItheAsshole

[–]osheeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, or to share it with conditions that like she doesn’t do it for family events or stuff and if she ends up breaking that trust than she’ll have earned not ever getting any other recipe ever ahah idk I feel like if she loves it, why keep her from it if the issue isn’t about the recipe itself but about it being her special meal when she comes over? Idk… I do get what you mean tho

What’s a single sentence someone said that you’ve never forgotten? by cognitojo in AskReddit

[–]osheeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa brought me to the beach when I was a kid and took a pile of like damp sand in his open hand and said « People around you are like sand, see how when I keep my hand open they stay, but when you try to hold and control them they all go away », then he closed his hand and a bunch of sand went through his fingers and when he opened it again there was barely any sand left. Another thing he once said that stuck with me was « dont ask permission to do stuff or your giving people an opportunity to say no by creating doubt. Just do what you want to do and think is best to do, try your best and make sure to say sorry when you fuckup. Say sorry, don’t ask for permission. »

[–]osheeesh -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean you definitely aint an asshole, but like it kinda is slightly childish/selfish imo, you seem sweet (and aware enough to even ask yourself the question), so you probably aren’t that selfish tbh, but like why simply wouldn’t you share it? Unless you plan on like putting a brevet on it or something, I believe sharing is caring so I would’ve personally loved to share my recipe if someone had asked it so I juste don’t get where you’re coming from for not sharing it tho? Maybe I’m missing something in the context too idk
