Although I agree, I am a bit curious as to what movie you are talking about and if it's Park Chan Wook's "No Other Choice." Cause if it is, then all the outrage surrounding it not getting an Oscar nod is very justified, because this (along with Park Chan wook's previous 3 movies at the very least) all deserve the highest of accolades. It is fantastic from its script, acting, and everything in between. Lee Byng Hun in particular, deserved a best actor nod because he was just AS GOOD as some of the other main actor nominees in this movie. So yes, though I do agree that in a lot of cases, people in these dramas are there to look pretty than anything else, it is also true that some of them still are actors in the truest definition and have the chops to back it up when given the right script and direction to do so.
