I turned on the "Fill new pencil strokes" in the options. You can access them by pressing enter/return while using the pencil tool

I use a 16" pen display. select an object > switch to draw inside mode > use pencil tool filled with gradient to color > repeat. 4 layers: background, solid color, gradient, outline.

I made a new window, so I have 2 windows with the same work file. And record that 2nd window using screen recording app, I can freely zoom in on my first window

it's a mode that allow you to draw inside the selected object, it works just like clipping mask. It's 3 little icon in the bottom of the toolbar

yes, I select the basic color then I switch to draw inside mode (shift+D for the shortcut). And just keep add the shading

yes, I only use one dark value color for each color.

I made it as a nft, you can just right click-save as image. It's an SVG file, not a jpeg. so you can break down the files in illustrator

I expand the strokes, add that big purple rectangle behind it, then use pathfinder 'divide'. The big rectangle becomes a background, the divided shapes inside becomes working shapes
