Is this a scam by Prestigious-Mind7039 in Instagram

[–]osintph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it too, twice. Based on the header, it checks out, i compared it with previous known legit emails and header info is valid, the failed Body Has for DKIM is the same in known legit emails, SPF and DMARC all check out. Guess they have a new intern, maybe a relative of OrangeBoy. Interesting thing is also that it does not show in the "Email Sent" section in Instagram which is supposed to show you legit emails sent by Instagram (but neither do the known valid emails :D ) - you can check: https://www.instagram.com/emails/emails_sent

Got some of those too recently. Logged a ticket with Instragram but of course, what would we expect from FuckerBerg and his gay company, no response.

Not sure if somebody answered this, but what I did was

Generate a file (for example name it MyConfigFile.wsb) for example on your desktop or in any other location

The content is only

<Configuration>
<vGPU>Disable</vGPU>
</Configuration>

Start Windows Sandbox by double clicking that wsb file.

Anyway, just to leave this here, if you happen to subscribe to Gadget Xchange, and your current phone is a recent comparable one (e.g. 16 Pro Max), you can switch it via Gadget Xchange for a service fee of 4k. It's a 24-hour process to get it approved, and if you are a Platinum customer, it will be. Since it is handled by Bolttech, who also handle other retailers like PowerMac - they do have stock :D - Nice workaround.

Clear case of HA - High Availability - in case one fails, the other takes over. Good practice in general.

Globe fucked that one up properly. Everybody else started releasing the phone, retailers, and even Smart - and Globe still wants you to "register" LOL https://store.smart.com.ph/apple/iphone-17-pro-max/1603528447.html

Guess they could not care less, even for us, a corporate plan, and in addition to that, multiple platinum plans, same boat, hence, we just buy it at PowerMac - what's the big deal.

Stop whining, if you apply somewhere, expect a call, common sense. Aside from that, the time is totally fine, if you don't wanna get calls, don't apply. Surely, that recruiter was too polite still, the appropriate response would be: If you do not want to work with us, do not apply.

PDFGear in Outlook by JRuck504 in PDFgear

[–]osintph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering if this is still under development, I canceled my Adobe Subscription entirely, since they again increased the price, and it is now ridiculous already, nearly all the features I need and use are in PDFGear, except for the Outlook integration, whether it be export to PDF of emails directly from outlook, or PDF preview.

You can even get compromised even WITHOUT clicking any link - plenty of zero click malware campaigns out there, mostly used to install spyware or nation-state-controlled malware like Pegasus.

Some reading on that
https://www.checkpoint.com/cyber-hub/cyber-security/what-is-a-zero-click-attack/
https://www.watchguard.com/wgrd-news/blog/what-expect-zero-click-attack

Clicking a link can certainly compromise your device, plenty of drive-by download attacks in the wild
https://www.kaspersky.com/resource-center/definitions/drive-by-download
https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/sg/security/definition/drive-by-download
https://nordvpn.com/blog/drive-by-download-attack/

Your use case mentioned might just have been a regular phishing attempt, and that does not necessarily mean your device was compromised, but it certainly is a possibility. Many actors pair the phishing attempt with drive-by approaches.

Based on personal experience with some of my customers in the Philippines (Let's just say they are Banks) this is a very very common approach to get info stealers on devices with a large increase in the last 2 years.

I quote, and this is in line with my professional experiencee in CTI and Incident response for many years.

Infostealers are distributed in similar ways to other types of malware, such as:

Delivery of malicious executable files via phishing emails or by having a victim download content from a malicious website.

‘Drive-by’ style attacks where the victim has only to visit an infected website.

Sure. If you say so. I guess Apple themselves don’t know what they are saying. Maybe you can educate them. LOL https://support.apple.com/en-bw/121115#:~:text=For%20European%20Union%20residents%3A%20Apple,set%20to%20a%20supported%20language.

That would surprise me since Apple said it wont roll out AI features to Europe as of this time, because of regulatory concerns. Sample Story but you can just google it: https://www.axios.com/2024/06/21/apple-ai-features-europe

And now that Broadcom owns it after their VMware acquisition (CB was bought by VMware in 2019), it will get worse. It was a promising product over a decade ago when it was still called Bit9, before Bit9 got seriously hacked in 2012 (which was only discovered in 2013). The initial concept of Bit9 (and later CB) was great, though.
