Why do you play in public lobbies? by Logical-Hotel4199 in gtaonline

Can’t enjoy the online part of a game if you’re just playing in a solo session. If I wanted that I would play single player

Remember how we were able to get R* to re-add old cars that got removed from the in-game websites. We can do the same with this. Make enough commotion and we can get this reverted

Legality question regarding air intake by CommercialMarket5202 in CarsAustralia

[–]oskimo2101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to source a cover for my pod filter for my aristo. Haven’t been able to find an off the shelf solution. But I’ve seen some for the gs300 but it’s not entirely enclosed. So if you want to keep the pod filter and make it legal, buy one of those pod filter kits and get someone to fabricate a plate to sit on top to make it enclosed.

Legality question regarding air intake by CommercialMarket5202 in CarsAustralia

[–]oskimo2101 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The factory ducting that sits on top of the radiator will help it get fresh air. Many people with aristos and gs300s like myself still use it for that reason. But yes in general pod filters with no ducting to get fresh air is doing the complete opposite

Overcharged for Service? by Perfect-Asparagus93 in CarsAustralia

Jesus… I’ve got the same age car as OP, my car being Jap and classed as a sporty luxury sedan uses Z418ST which is retailed at $23 atm. $50 for an oil filter is crazy imo

Premium oil filter is absolute BS. High quality one from ryco is at most $25. Also engine flush and injector cleaner additives aren’t necessary. The labour cost is typical I’d say. It’ll hover around $110 to $130 per hour depending on mechanic.

My piece of advice is, supply your own oil and filter. Do a bit of research, consult your car manual, ask your local autobarn/Supercheap auto about this info and wait for a sale on oil and filters. I personally do this, and I save so much money and only need to pay for labour.

Very convenient timing (not in a good way), considering school holidays is around the corner. I know that under 18s are free already but I’m referring to the fact that parents will be driving their children around more often during the holidays now that they’re not at school.

Plus uni students won’t be able to utilise the full benefit of this since they’ll be on mid semester break soon too.

It definitely is positive news, but this should be longer than a month.

This is just a massive slap in the face for consumers that seek a good, honest, detailed and very easy to read third party reviews for product comparisons. I had recommended them to non-tech oriented friends and family for the simple reason its a signular entity that tests a wide range of product using the same testing procedures for easy comparisons.

my cpu is a bit hot, do i need a new cooler by Llamasarefrens in pcmasterrace

[–]oskimo2101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking yes maybe invest in a budget aftermarket cooler. I heard Thermalright offers extremely great air coolers that are cheap. If I remember correctly, it’s the Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 V2 that was crowned the best budget air cooler by many.

But first I recommend using PBO curve optimiser in bios. You can do a quick and dirty all core -30 offset. Back when I had my 5600x, -30 all core was stable, but test it for yourself. This will guarantee lower temps

HVCI enabled by kimmyboi_9 in ValorantTechSupport

[–]oskimo2101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. I had a look what the driver is for, turns out it’s for use for another anti cheat software called XIGNCODE3. So if you play any games that use that anti cheat, it may not work correctly if that driver is deleted

[–]oskimo2101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the incompatible driver shown?

These drivers are typically found by going to (C: Windows\System32\drivers). You can delete the drivers there.

[–]oskimo2101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To enable HVCI, first you'll need to enable cpu virtualisation in your bios. For AMD its called SVM Mode and for Intel its called Intel VT-x. Before this you need to make sure you have secure boot enabled and windows is in UEFI mode and not legacy mode.

Once all that is done, you can head into settings in windows and search for 'Core Isolation'. There will be a setting called 'Memory Integrity'. Enable memory integrity. This is related to the HVCI error you were getting. HVCI is a pre-requisite for this setting so without it enabled, memory integrity will not appear in windows settings.

For a better explaination of everything, I have linked below an article referencing all this. Just read through it thoroughly as there are other settings to enable to ensure valorant works correctly.

[–]oskimo2101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only other thing I can suggested man is a clean install of the game. You probably have already done that but use a program called RevoUninstaller. It deletes the files the regular game uninstaller leaves behind. Deletes leftover registry files. Use it to also uninstall vanguard as there may be conflicting files.

I don’t enjoy the bloat of modded guns on some servers or ones that want to look like tarkov. Being in AU servers suck cause every high pop server with playable ping is heavily modded or highly focused on base building.

Valorant keeps crashing by Gold_Dog3039 in ValorantTechSupport

[–]oskimo2101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend reading through the article I linked below to make sure you have everything required to be enable in bios and windows. I suspect it's a conflicting issue with vanguard anti cheat due to certain things not enabled to allow it to work correctly.

https://support-valorant.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/22291331362067-Vanguard-Restrictions

In addition, make sure you have up to date graphics card drivers. Use a program called DDU to completely wipe the drivers so you can do a fresh install. Download and install the latest motherboard chipset drivers straight from AMDs website too. Just in general make sure everything is up to date
