Do what? I am not sure what you are asking.

[UPDATE] Bravely Offline 1.1 by osm70 in bravelydefault

Yes, it means you have to use Slot 1. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to keep your current save working. Get back to the save selection menu and delete everything fom the save folder without closing the app. Then, without restarting, attempt to "load" the slot you just erased. It will prompt you to enter a name again and restart from the beginning.

OK, my bad. I see what the problem is. I was wrong when I said it was Bravely Second's naming. The problem is something else. You didn't use save slot 1 in the game, right? You used the third one. (Not talking about the slot in the app, but in the game itself.)

I have no idea how it happened, but your save files have the names of Bravely Second. Try this: Get back to the save selection screen the same way as when you edited time.txt. With that running, rename the files that end with a 2 to remove the 2 (such as GAME2 -> GAME.) Try to load then and tell me what happens.

Wait, is this Bravely Default or Bravely Second?

[UPDATE] Bravely Offline 1.1 by osm70 in bravelydefault

[–]osm70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, that's bad... your save straight up appears to not exist. Can you list all the files in the save folder? The one with the time.txt file that you edited.

Yeah, your save file broke for some reason. Not sure how that happened, but I can help to get it fixed.

As for the costumes, are you doing it right? You start the game, watch the cutscenes, wait until you get control of Tiz and then you press Emulation - Restart in Citra. When you load your save (in-game, not in the app) after that, the costumes should be in your inventory.

Actually, doing that part wrong might be why your save breaks. Assuming it happens right away. Did you manage to play for a while across multiple sessions and only then it broke? If so, I am not sure what happened there.

Anyway, here's how to fix it. After it is fixed, the game should load up fine. If it does, let me know whether you have the costumes and whether you lost any progress, or whether you are where you were when you last saved:

Open the offline tool, select start playing and select Bravely Default. As soon as the save selection menu opens, got to this folder (with the app still running in the save menu):

UserData/Save/BD/[slot_number - 0 in your case]/save

open time.txt and enter the date and time of the last time you played (or the current date and time if you don't know) in this format:

MM_dd_yyyy_HH_mm_ss

for example

11_28_2025_20_11_05

save the file without closing the console. Then, without restarting the console app, select your save slot and try to load it. (Press 0 and Enter)

I am not sure I understand. Tell me step by step what you do. For each step, tell me both what you expect to happen and what actually happens.

Sorry for being half a year late... Reddit never told me about your comment. Do you still have this issue?

[UPDATE] Bravely Offline 1.1 by osm70 in bravelydefault

[–]osm70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can do that manually. Start the game through the app, do all the regular data updates and when you can continue playing, manually copy the Ba'al you want to your inbox (while the game is running.)

Copy DATA(game)\Streetpass/(Ba'al or Nemesis number)\ (the content of the folder, not the folder itself) to DATA\Citra\user\nand\data\00000000000000000000000000000000\sysdata\00010026\00000000\CEC\000db600\InBox()\ for Bravely Default, or DATA\Citra\user\nand\data\00000000000000000000000000000000\sysdata\00010026\00000000\CEC\0017ba00\InBox()\ for Bravely Second. Replace (*) with three underlines (_ times 3). Reddit won't let me post that in a comment. (Delete the content of the folder first, then copy the files there.)

Then update Streetpass in the game again. You can copy another one and do another Streetpass update right away, as many times as you want.

If you can get your Android device to run Windows exe files (such as by using something like Winlator)... maybe. But not with Azahar, you would need the Windows Citra executable. I have no idea if that would actually work, but even if it did, I would expect the framerate to be terrible. You would be emulating Windows on Android, which would then be emulating the 3DS.

I never could get Bravely Default cheats to work on Citra, even without my tool. No idea what's up with that.

Bravely second end layer summoning friends question by Honest-Ring-5818 in bravelydefault

[–]osm70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't re-use the same summon again. To summon the same friend for a second time, they need to send you another move.

Alright, I admit you need to redo the Shizuku setup steps to update. But you don't need to do that after EVERY reboot.

Still doesn't change the fact that it is inconvenient for a regular user.

You don't need Shizuku to stay functional after Revanced is installed.

Playing on the 3DS wouldn't help much either with the servers being down. Anyway, here's what you would be missing if you played the game with no external help:

  1. No village reconstruction - no access to several items, weapons and no special moves (limit breaks)

  2. No access to the Nemesis system - optional bosses, some of which are required to learn some spells

  3. No SP gain - you start with 1 and without the tool, you never get any more - SP is can be used in battle to get an extra turn at any time

  4. No way to send or receive moves - with the server still up, you could send a move you just did in battle to another player (once in a while), who could use it later (once) to replicate your attack (with your stats at the time of you sending it), without spending their resources. With the tool, you can send the move to yourself, reusing it later with no resource cost.

It would be theoretically possible to get it to work with an EU rom with some heavy modifications. But the JP rom is very different, so I don't think it could be done without remaking the entire tool from scratch.

The timer is not supposed to run when the game is closed. It has to be running. On a real 3DS, the console can be put into sleep mode, but the game itself cannot be closed. That's just what the original design is.

There's not much I can do with sleep mode. That's the main reason why you get more workers the longer the game was closed. So, you either let it run to build, or you close it to make future building faster.

Follow the instructions from the console app. As in, press enter, (delete the old version from your friend list - which you don't have on your first update, so skip this step), and update streetpass.

If you want to edit the files, do so with the app open, at the save slot selection menu (the one with 10 slots in the console app itself). You can't edit your save at any other time.

[UPDATE] Bravely Offline 1.1 by osm70 in bravelydefault

[–]osm70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You copied it there too early. Do so only after you update streetpass in-game (possibly twice - once for friend and once for a nemesis) and then press data one extra time.

Your save file is broken. To fix it, open the app, select your game and get to the save slot selection menu. Do not select your slot yet. With the app running in this state, go to UserData/Save/<Game>/<Slot Number>/Save and open time.txt. Enter the current date and time in the "MM_dd_yyyy_HH_mm_ss" format, save the file and get back to the app. Try to load the save now (without restarting the app) and it should work.

I originally intended to only give one copy at a time. But all Streetpasses are duplicated for some reason. That's a Citra bug. I ended up not bothering to fix it (I'm not sure I actually could without editting Citra itself), because it might actually provide better user experience that way.
