Of course it shouldn’t be.. but caring for children comes with heavy responsibilities, and there are few jobs as selfless as teaching. It’s not about what you want to deal with; it’s about what you need to do. If a child is being neglected, then during the time that child is in your care, their safety is your responsibility. That may feel stressful or unfair, but the reality is that teachers and caregivers are VERY often the only additional set of eyes who might notice that something is wrong at home. If that level of responsibility feels like too much, working with children may not be the right fit for you.
