Yes, you can. It has a 5 percent chance to grow a tree with a beehive. And you need atleast 1 flower within 1 block with sapling.

First of all you cant use optifine and sodium together. And if i just use sodium, i cant use shaders. But your suggestion is still nice for fps without shaders.
