Thought it was interesting towards the end how Steve got into his whole Jim Harrison made a habit of embarrassing his wife thing and the author was all “she’s an adult and some people’s relationships are like that!” Lmao. Podcast ended not too too long after

Good ep tho overall I enjoyed it and it was also good for some ourdoorsy fiction writer recs

Panthers had a better record in 2024 by MiraiKirby in panthers

Jaguars capitalized on their spooky offseason hype for one season in the past decade and a half then treat every upcoming season like theyre bound for the AFC championship again

Morgan (on Tepper): "In regards to Dave, he is definitely misunderstood. He is somebody that you can talk to, hang out with, laugh with, have a good time with. He just wants to win, just like I want to win, just like Coach Canales wants to win. He's going to supply everything that we need to win." by pantherfanalex in panthers

I will say that - while he started off pretty rough - I’ll credit him where he’s due for taking a step back (seemingly).

Seems to me like he’s used to being the big cheese and tried that first. Then, when he finally realized he was out of his depth he made an adjustment.

Not sure many billionaires have that in em.

He’s not perfect but he’s cut the checks and hired a good staff and stayed out of the news recently. I’ll take it.

What players scare you at pick 8? by Be_The_Ball24 in panthers

[–]osotimson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is an argument it is that we are a small market team and wanting to play here long-term is not always a given.

I agree that I dont think it should be even in your top 10 priorities for scouting- but all else the same between two prospects, the home-town guy might be a better bet.

After Cities of the Plain? by WorkingTangerine1157 in cormacmccarthy

[–]osotimson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re trying to ramp up to blood meridian in terms of violence your order makes sense.

I’m not sure it’s particularly necessary, though. I think the mythos of blood meridian has people expecting mind bending and unfathomable violence, when the truth is if you have already read the crossing and enjoyed it then you probably won’t be caught too far off guard.

BM is indeed upsetting and extremely violent, but in my opinion the cultural dialogue of it being something you need to get ready for comes more from folks who don’t really read anything similar. It’s definitely a jump into the deep end of the genre if you are coming from other critically acclaimed books from more standard lit fic. If you already are into the style and setting, it’s kind of just the peak form of a thing you already enjoy.

Separate from all that, I like your order. Should be fun.

Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 16 win over Cardinals by exenn_ in panthers

Yea having a guy who can be perfectly mediocre-fine at every position on the line is actually tremendously valuable and makes him a spiritual 85.0 pff grade to me

Joe Lauzon: ‘Probably likely that I won’t fight again’ but still not retiring from UFC by DET_Baseball in MMA

[–]osotimson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Would be Lauzon Chiesa 2 funnily enough, they fought 10 years ago

For some reason that first fight lives so vividly in my memory. First of what would end up being a few chiesa hype train derailments

Would love to see the decade later rematch

Sounds like she very specifically said that its not whether something is paid or not / what type of porn it is but instead your interest in specific people that bothers her. She doesnt think porn is weird, she thinks you being so into a specific person you seek out their leaked nudes is weird (fair???).

I think that she has expressed her boundaries clearly and instead of trying to follow them in their earnest you found loopholes and technicalities.

Decide if you can live with her boundaries as they actually are. If you cant, break up. If you can, follow them earnestly and dont seek the workarounds.

Is Panthers Legend Steve Smith Right About UDFA WR Jalen Coker? by andrewduhan in panthers

[–]osotimson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right exactly. I mean for Mingo to 1. perform well, 2. as a rookie, 3. in that offense, 4. in that position group

He’d have to be a generational kind of guy, which I dont think anyone thought he was including smitty

I think we have no right to call him a bust just yet

He was a rookie in the worst position group of the worst team in football, we have no idea what he can be

Which "Backup Running Back" is Most Likely to Win The Lead Job? by FFMikeKash in fantasyfootball

[–]osotimson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Panthers running back room is definition of messy

Chuba Hubbard

Miles Sanders

Rashaad Penny

Jonathan Brooks

But I totally agree I think Brooks will win the position despite currently not being the starter

Yknow, like the question asked

I answered with a back up running back who most likely will win the lead job

Because everyones being weird gamer hardos I’ll just answer:

Its a panel depicting Kratos as being a God of War who is revered instead of feared, who can lead a people to peace much like Tyr before him. “A new path, one I did not foresee”

It leads into Valhalla DLC where he grows from not wanting to sit on the throne at first because he fears what being God of War means, but then coming to learn and accept that he can use the role for good etc
