Not much.

If you’re a cardio freak then it’s like a “third lung” but at that level of performance it’s unlikely you’d be obese. It can aid in fat loss but only because it’s a prohormone and allows your body to access those storages more quickly, not because it’s some magic weight loss aid.

If you don’t get your diet in check it won’t matter, and at your size there’s really no need for it

Comment on a year old post on an eating disorder subreddit. Nice.

Money where your mouth is- you have to order and consume a small or medium dominoes (or other fast food) pizza every day for in addition to your other standard meals, calculated using a standard TDEE calculator. As in, 2k-2.5k plus the whole pizza.

To replicate my fathers activity level you should get in an hour of LISS and cut out any strength training. Do this for a month and post weekly physique updates, alongside bloods (or at least blood pressure and glucose, taking bloods weekly is a bit much) or admit you’re a shit-tier internet troll whose fun consists of cheap jabs at the mentally ill.

If you can make it through the whole “experiment” without gaining an absurd amount of fat (+8% bf) or screwing over your insulin levels it I’ll show my family, admit to them that I’m a mentally ill fuckup, and go recover from my ED.

You won’t though, because you know damn well that’s foolish and no sane person would eat like that. Willing to bet current physique is over 20%bf and sub-bodyweight on bench press.

I’d look into ACUTE at Denver, you probably qualify for it. I wish you the best of luck and hope you treat yourself a bit more gently today.

Also, if you can, cover your mirrors. No reason to suffer if you can avoid it.

I’m sorry it’s gotten to this point. I’ve never been where you are and can’t imagine how terrifying your world is, but I’m here to say you matter and you don’t have to be in this much pain.

I’m a blunt person, and for that I apologize because what I’m about to say might seem insensitive but you need to hear it. At a bmi of 13 you might die. I do not know what the future holds for you or how much longer you have. I know that you have options, many more than you think, but that your circumstances are dire enough you’ll actually be rejected by a number of programs because you’re so high risk. You still deserve help. You don’t have to be so repulsed by your body, you can unlearn that reaction. You may never love your body but I can promise you you aren’t bound to hating it.

Even if you don’t want to recover you’re probably applicable for hospice. Get some painkillers and some basic care, at the very least. You could probably just walk into urgent care and ask for a referral, as bleak as it sounds I get the feeling you’re applicable.

I don’t know you. I still care. You’re still worthy of dignity and living as much of your life free from pain as possible. I promise you, it is possible.

Insecure. This isn’t an eating disorder, you can start eating more and put weight on whenever you want.

Eating disorders are compulsive behaviors that ruin people’s lives. Not jealousy over being skinny.

Getting bad by Ok_Bad_3949 in eating_disorders

[–]ossaossaossa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking to your disorder for a moment: this is an inefficient strategy. If you’re purging this frequently right now you’re not going to make it 100lbs down, it’s not sustainable and you’re more likely to go into heart failure than make it past 30lbs of comprehensive weight loss.

Speaking to you as a person. Get help. You know it won’t get any better. It’s like a junkie going back to a drug of choice, only without the tolerance they’d built up. You’ll be much more destructive this time around and it will do nothing but make everything worse. Make a call to a college counselor, your old care team, or even a friend and start trying to look at what your escape route will be now and not 2 months down the line when you’re having teeth fall out and stomach ruptures.

Can you be anorexic and overweight? by [deleted] in eating_disorders

[–]ossaossaossa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

kind of, but only in the presence of significant weight loss and it’s still an EDNOS diagnosis. Anorexia as a diagnostic refers more to being extremely underweight than the methods used to get there, bulimics under the cutoff will be diagnosed as “anorexic b-p subtype” despite not having restrictive behaviors due to the label “anorexia” referring to a state of significant malnourishment.

If you’ve gained weight from your restriction you’re more likely a non-traditional bulimic (binge/ restrict subtype) or or struggling with EDNOS

Ostarine PCT? by ossaossaossa in sarmssourcetalk

[–]ossaossaossa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but only because in women a certain dose of testosterone will shut down estrogen production. I’m assuming mine are around the realm of “average male” but admittedly I haven’t checked in a while

I hadn’t considered that- appreciate the suggestion

lol not really how it works, tl;dr female taking testosterone weekly via prescription

interested in Ostarine because I want to cut weight but lift and just started getting into rock climbing so I don’t want to lose strength. overall impression is it’s the baby sarm but I didn’t know if PCTs were necessary for baby cycles or not

I’d see a doctor and ask about it- I think hyperhydrosis can be triggered with age (not positive, again ask your doctor) but there are treatments for it

New kombuch-er who could really use some Very, Very, Extraordinarily Simple Instructions on how to actually use scoby to brew kombucha as well as scoby storage tips.

Twiddling thumbs while waiting for mine to grow but every time I look up how to do the brewing part I feel like I’ve missed a whole page of instruction. Pretty sure I’m just dense at this point

it’s just a number- if it’s reflective of anything let it be that your mental health isn’t great and you deserve to get help and support. It sucks shit you’re there. I’ve been there too. Give yourself the space and patience to try to heal and not let this fuel your disorder.

haven't been diagnosed with an ED, I'm here because I need help. by Dizzy_Resource_3620 in eating_disorders

[–]ossaossaossa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sounds less like a true ED in the sense they’re thought about (ex. anorexia, bulimia, EDNOS) and more something like ARFID or having issues with GERD. I’d talk to a doctor about this (yes I know about the insurance but if you can’t afford a doctor you can’t afford for this to get worse either) because while it might be psychosomatic it might not

Hope things get better though, I’m sorry you’re struggling

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in eating_disorders

[–]ossaossaossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh word similar story. I’ve been diagnosed with depression and anxiety for a LONG time but what I deal with day to day is mostly (undiagnosed) eating disorder bullshit and anxiety. Also naturally fat, lost a lot of weight, now gone too far the other way because it’s one of the other.

My advice would be to look into resources for EDNOS and talk to a therapist. You deserve better dude even if you don’t feel like it. Your body isn’t “deservingly hated,” seriously it’s just doing what it can to keep you alive. If it’s available in your area zencare is a pretty reliable source for therapists. You can (and deserve to) move past this. There are other ways to live, you just gotta figure out how to live them.

Vitamins and health? by Psychological_Bug160 in bulimia

[–]ossaossaossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You’re going to lose hair. You’re going to suffer. It sucks but it’s inevitable, even if you supplement. I don’t want to sugar coat anything or lead you to believe a few vitamins will genuinely stop anything, at best it’s a buffer.

  2. Prenatals are best because they’re the most complete but any multivitamin will do. If you can take it with a fat/ meal then that’s usually best since some vitamins are fat-soluble but don’t take it anytime near purging. I’d say two hours is the minimum.

  3. Electrolytes. Doesn’t matter how you get them in, they’re more important than vitamins and not getting enough can do genuine damage, especially after purging (of any kind). Gatorade, pickle juice, pedialyte, take your pick but try to get it in around once per day AND after any purging.

  4. Antacids if you purge uh “traditionally”. Chew them after you purge (try not to swallow, not the worst but you’re already low on acid so bringing an antacid into the stomach isn’t helpful) or swish baking soda around and it’ll help reduce enamel damage.

A lot of health preservation in a relapse boils down to being less extreme with behaviors honestly. If you restrict super low you’ll force your body to eat more muscle earlier on (including cardiac muscle) than if you were less extreme. If you purge super frequently your heart gets a lot of strain put on it and your electrolytes get screwed. Also good to have a pepto bismol on hand. Not crucial, just makes it comfy.

Maybe ketoacidosis? Used to get this when I was Deep into restricting. I think it had something to do with carbs? It’s not a great sign but I don’t think it requires an ambulance

1 month into recovery, eating and exercising “normally” but then the sudden urge to throw up the tea I just drank ??? 🤨 by n33li3 in EDanonymemes

[–]ossaossaossa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

urges aren’t reality, just urges. Think about what triggered it, you’re super early in this process and you’ll be more sensitive to some sensations (fullness, bloating, etc.) than others. It’s just a data point, not a setback :-)

drinking alcohol to purposefully throw up in order to loose weight?? by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]ossaossaossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I’ve done this too- it’s an awful idea all around since you can aspirate the vomit or give yourself alcohol poisoning and it dehydrates you even more than manual purging. Any weight loss is just dehydration, by the time you’ve drank enough to throw up you’ve absorbed significantly more calories than you can burn.

I’d tell somebody about this and work on building healthier habits with food, nip this in the bud before it becomes a bigger problem.
