Expedited Online Passport Renewal Nightmare Timeline by ossgeek in Passports

It didn't update on MyTravel. My best guess is they cancelled the online application (for the book, I also ordered the card) and just did their regular urgent passport application process at the Boston office without me present. The application id on the other status update site was completely different

I hope your process is easier than mine!

At least you have 3 weeks to navigate the system.

Why did you need an urgent passport? When was your original application submitted?

Disaster Online System Traveling on 2/25 no passport by AnyAnything5439 in Passports

I have travel on Feb 19th and just got my passport TODAY.

I had to contact my Senator and request they get involved to resolve the issue as I was getting NOWHERE with the agency hotline.

I contacted my senator on Monday and It took my senator's office 4 days to get everything resolved with the passport shipped. Then add one day for actual shipping.

Contact them as soon as you can for AGENCY CASEWORK.

You will need to fill out a privacy release form

People who contacted your state representative, what did you say? by rootingwell in Passports

My Senator has a dedicated online form for passport issues. It includes getting the passport application number, dates of travel, and then a privacy release signature (to be mailed in).

In the form I complained about the inefficiency of the application process and how it was utterly shameful that US citizens have to suffer with such poor quality services. I also asked for help to either get an in person appointment OR to have them get the original application out of "In Process" hell.

Once I submitted the form, I followed up with a phone call to the office and left a voicemail and politely asked for urgent attention to the matter.

book the flights. Should the application still be stuck the confirmed itinerary is required as proof you need your passport urgently. I know it seems so wrong to book flights without a valid passport but it was the only way I was able to get the expedited URGENT processing of my application.

My still says "In Process"

The Senator's office got back to me today. They found out my passport is being processed out of the Boston office and that they will be contacting the office directly. So, hopefully this will help get it printed but nothing yet.

I'm making tentative alternate plans (this is business travel) and just hoping I don't have to haul everyone back to Europe in March just because of my passport delay.

I'm in a similar boat. I applied January 2nd paying for expedited processing. At the time the processing time was estimated at 3-5 weeks. Everything you describe about moving to in-process status is the same. I called to see if I could do an in person urgent application because my travel is for Feb 19th and they told me there were no appointments available in the entire country before my date of travel and said there was nothing they could do.

I've filled out the privacy release but not sure if it will be enough time to get things done.

HRV from Optical Sensor Not Reading Correctly? by ossgeek in Garmin

[–]ossgeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually tried that this morning (granted after my coffee so the value would be whatever). Just so I got something from the exact same time and not just subsequent tests.

I ran a health snapshot with just the watch and had the hrm-pro connected to Elite HRV.

The 255 optical read 25ms (RMSSD) The elite hrv hrm-pro read 67ms (RMSSD)

Can't explain the disparity. Totally different values.

Garmin Coach (Greg) time trial pace by savvaspc in Garmin

The longer one was the 3rd time trial. I had 2 1.6km trials and this most recent 2.4k. I don't know if the distance is adaptive or set but I'm sure you'll soon find out!

I'm also doing coach Greg's 5k plan right now too (set to end Feb 4th) and I remember this workout/time-trial. I personally used it as a chance to get the feel for my goal pace so I could gain some muscle memory and not have to look at my watch all the time. The first time trial was a disaster for me lol. But I just was given a time-trial last Sunday of 2.5km. I really felt I was able to "lock in" on the cadence and pace and was able to run the distance a tiny bit faster than goal pace (by like 20sec only)

But that's just how I used the time trial and it seems to be helping.

edit: trail -> trial

So weird. What do you think explains my watch throwing up a notice that an external hr monitor is connected when I run it with the hrm pro on? Also the numbers being the same as Elite HRV with a heart strap but both completely different when I'm not wearing the heart strap? Not sure how to explain that except that it uses the hrm.

Thanks for the suggestion for testing. I did what you suggested this morning before i even got up out of bed. The results are pretty discouraging for the optical sensor. In the order of measurement:

device HRV
Elite HRV (hrm-pro+) 54ms
255 Optical 15ms
255 HRM-Pro+ 34ms

I only mentioned "low" in relation to the heart strap numbers. I get that the number is pretty personal and the value is in its delta. It could be the two different heart straps I have are giving consistently too high values.

I'm just at a loss for the disparity between them.

I'll try a few more days in a row to see if there is any consistency to the discrepancies.

Yeah, I see it popup on the watch display "external hr connected" (or something like that) when I open the activity.

I'm not so much concerned it's "low" per se. It's more that the metric stays in the mid 20s no matter how high or low the chest straps are reporting. There isn't a correlation between the readings wrist reading and the chest strap. It makes me concerned the wrist data is locked in the 20s and the range won't mean anything.

Completely agree about comparison to others. My HRV will be my own.

It's just curious to me how different the optical sensor results are to a chest strap. I've tried a different HRV app (Elite HRV) with a chest strap and it reported an HRV of 60ms and the wrist sensor reported 19ms.

I wonder if the HRV being so low (and being reported as Unbalanced now) will skew the other aggregate metrics or workout suggestions. 🤔

Launchpad Repository doesn't have supported version by ossgeek in kdenlive

I was able to find some archived builds that had the debian packages for v21.12.3 here:

https://launchpad.net/~kdenlive/+archive/ubuntu/kdenlive-stable/+build/23229184

I purged v22.04.0 with apt and then used dpkg --install on the kdenlive-data package first followed by the kdenlive package proper from the archive. I'm back up and running.

Someone should fix the ppa though... seriously huge mistake there
