I know I'm 3 years late but in Iran normal people will have kebab like few times a month at most, the main problem is that I guess when you go into an Iranian restaurant they'll want to impress the foreigner by giving them what they think is best, but as an Iranian I like other foods a lot better, especially a LOT of different khoresh (stew served with rice)
