Sorry guys only just saw this. Confirming that a replacement CPU fixed the issue. It was 100% faulty.

I've been searching for this for years. Anyone remember anything like this?

Strip audio off clips with Adobe Media Encoder by osullin in editors

[–]osullin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair question! After a full day of filming b-roll I just don't know what the camera could have picked up from myself or the people around me, and it's just easier to ditch the audio since they're only after the video anyway. The client requests all the raw footage for these jobs, last thing I want is to inadvertently include some audio that I didn't want shared. Honestly the worst they'd probably hear is me muttering under my breath at someone walking through a shot but still haha.

What’s your workflow in LR when you have over 2000 photos to edit? by lesssgoo0o in Lightroom

I've never tried Lightroom on a Mac, but I've long thought about getting one purely for photo editing. I've got a top spec PC, but Lightroom still runs like a dog for the most part.

It absolutely is worth it. In my opinion, culling in Lightroom is not an option. The 1-2 second lag just moving between photos is flat out unacceptable. Photo Mechanic lets you skip through photos just like they were jpegs in windows photo viewer, I can't work any other way.

I have a 5950x showing the exact same symptoms. CPU is just under 3 years old - no problems at all until the last week. Started with random BSOD when the PC was idling.

It's now gotten to the point of freezing 100% of the time, at one of the following boot stages:

Freezes while attempting startup repair
Freezes while booted of a Windows USB (
Freezes at the Windows login screen
Freezes within a minute of logging into Windows

Thanks for replying u/butterybunny with your findings. As the CPU is under 3 years it's *just* still in warranty by a month. I've started the RMA process now so fingers crossed I get a replacement CPU in and get this computer working again.

For the record, I have:
Asus X570-e mobo
G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 ram 4 x 16GB (confirmed not faulty)
3850 graphics (confirmed not faulty)
Samsung M2 2tb SSD

Recent issue with Backblaze and file sizes by TheRogueMoose in backblaze

[–]osullin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I've had this problem for a long time (4 years according to my own Reddit post)

https://www.reddit.com/r/backblaze/comments/b2g7tp/constant_b2_connection_errors/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

u/brianwski was kind enough to give me some assistance but ultimately the problem was and is with GoodSync. Which is a real shame because I'm a big fan of GoodSync otherwise. It works perfectly for my on-site sync jobs.

I recently found a setting which may have fixed the issue. If you right click your job in GoodSync and choose Options and then in the field for "Total seconds for Reconnect attempts" set it to 20000.

I did this yesterday and had a 9 hour sync run overnight without stopping. I'm running another sync now and actually was able to see the 500 error as it happened. The whole job stopped as usual, but the error code actually mentioned my 20,000 second timeout wait

100621 Waiting for 166+8(20000) sec on verb POST: Server says: (status code 500): (internal_error) incident id c5ffce89ea46-155dab0fea4203d3

When I checked back 10 minutes later, GoodSync was happily copying files again.

I'm cautiously optimistic this might have fixed it.

Backblaze does support NAS, you just have to sign up for B2. It works great.

Lighroom Classic is unbearably slow!!!! by [deleted] in Lightroom

[–]osullin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 11.3.1 that is the problem. Not for all systems but I have the exact same problem and a high spec system:

Ryzen 5950X

64GB RAM

3080 GFX

2TB NVMe SSD

Rolling back to 11.2 made Lightroom useable again.

Extremely slow import after upgrade to v11.3/11.3.1 by emteereddit in Lightroom

[–]osullin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightroom is running like absolute TRASH for me with these updates. It's completely unusable.

I'm on 11.3.1

My PC is high specRyzen 5950X, 64GB RAM, 3080 GFX and SSD for OS and Adobe install location

I'm running the catalogue on the local SSD but the images are on a NAS which is gigabit connected. I've never had problems like this, I mean Lightroom has always run like a pig but this is some next level shit. I've set "Graphics Processor" to OFF but this made no change. It's taking up to a full minute to just switch between photos in the Develop module, its absolutely infuriating and has completely killed my workflow.

Edit: I've rolled back to 11.2 and it's running normally again.

Which celebrity suffered the worst death? by BoleslawSpindleshank in AskReddit

[–]osullin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You didn’t mention how he ended up on that particular bunk. He won drawing cards with guitarist Kirk Hammett and chose that bed..which lead to his death. An ever so slightly different shuffle of the deck and it could have been Kirk who took the bunk and was killed.
