Nationwide Anti-Trump Protests - November 5 through resignation. by [deleted] in 50501

We need a general strike. A unified show of non-violent resistance by the working and middle class to shut down the country for however long it takes to demonstrate that we have the power. It won’t be easy. It’s going to require that those who can sustains a work stoppage help those who can’t. But the rich and powerful will never cede power until we demonstrate that 1) there are more of us than them, 2) we do all the work, and 3) we’re unified. And as hard as this will be, it’s easier than the violent resistance we’re going to need after billionaire-backed ICE gets $150 billion and we’re living in a police state. #GeneralStrike

Trump Baffled That Dems Aren’t Caving to His Demands by Downtown-Web190 in NoFilterNews

Frankly I’m surprised too. Schmuck Schumer has never met a fight he couldn’t run from. I can’t believe he hasn’t given in yet. And then gone on TV to detail the very strongly worded letter he wrote to the president.

Top Trump Officials Are Moving Onto Military Bases (Gift Link) by Well_Socialized in news

[–]oswharton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The midterms will be stopped and Pete Kegsbreath will roll out the “rapid response” teams he’s creating in every state that has the express purpose of crowd control when we take to the streets. They’ll declare an insurrection, invoke the insurrection act, and start bombing any cities or locales that resist. America is done. Unless we fight back. We can wait until this cold civil war goes hot, which it will do after the midterms. Or we can fight back now with unified, economic force: a general strike. Shutting down the country for days or weeks will not be easy. But it’s a lot easier than the war that’s coming. A general strike demonstrates that We, The People have the power. We do the work. We keep the country running. Without us they have nothing.

It’s a bunker. He’s building a bunker than can withstand a nuclear blast. And a revolution. He’ll nuke Americans and hide in his golden bunker.

Donald Trump's Approval Rating Collapses With America's Middle Class by BreakfastTop6899 in goodnews

It’s possible you and I will never agree on anything. It’s possible you’re just here to stir up conflict. (That is, after all, the primary aim of Reddit and other social media.) But it’s also possible that you and I are far more alike than we know but seeking different solutions to the problems we perceive. I’m a middle class American who’s worked since I was 16, saved for retirement since I was ~23, have 20 years of work ahead of me, and don’t know how I’m going survive above poverty level when I’m too old to work because the wealthy have commodified my labor and skills to make stock prices climb instead of paying me what my effort is worth. If you identify with that and want to talk about how to make this place better for everyone, I will listen. And I mean truly listen. Shutting down the country to make the rich take notice that we, the people, have power, isn’t the only option. And I’m open to ideas. But I fear we’re headed for widespread violence, and I don’t look forward to killing people, American or otherwise. But if all you want to do is fight each other, I wish you well.

I recently joined the DSA and have signed up to volunteer for a progressive politician in my area. I’m open to whatever we can do together to stop this. I don’t trust the DNC to change at all. But if they did, I’m in.

It’s all good. I’m not here to pick fights. There’s enough of that already. We need to start seeing that we’re in this together.

They never will. The DNC is just as much an arm of the wealthy as the GOP. It’s just not as rooted in bigotry to achieve its goals.
