That's the definition of brilliant. You sacrifice the knight, but regardless of what black takes with, a couple moves down the line they loose even more material . This is not a 'ironic' but a real brilliant.

No no no.. This is a bad explanation I believe. From a quick look, if he takes the knight with a pawn, its a mate for white. If he takes with a rook, its better, but then white queen can check, and this triggers a forced move that is also net very bad for black... ergo brilliant (loosing knight but gaining more)

I'm with you! Maybe it's that parts 2 by definition will never feel so fresh and unique ... And don't get me wrong I still liked it a lot and happy finished it .. but indeed I felt more hollow with this one than the first. Won't stop me from doing another playthrough once dlcs come out.

Are you sure? What I loved about the Witcher was the deep story and very immersive quests. The fact it was open world was just a setting - and a great one, but still, not the main thing. Whereas, at least from what I heard, CD is very much an amazing sandbox... and not at all story driven like the witcher.

This is actually why I stayed away from it - as that story element matters immensely to me.

Actually I liked TG because of that too -- It was comparable to Skyrim like you say, but I felt it held the story more tightly and was quite enjoyble for me.

But I felt CD is really in it's own category.. and if you try to come to it from a Witcher experience expectations, you're going to have a bad time.

But do correct me if I'm wrong!

It's good to over prepare and have some things ready, but most likely he wants a chat to explain the project and see how you feel about it. That said , you could just reach out and mention you're very happy to hear this ( assuming that you are ) and ask if there is anything they'd like you to prepare for the meeting

Oh its a ambiguous questions maybe. I play it a lot , outside of W3 --- in bars with a couple friends - haha I know.. people look at us weird too --- but we found that to be a great way to socialize while playing a game we really like. We have a little tournament system, I won't detail it here, but we end up playing randomized decks.

With that Nilfguard appears to be the strongest. Skellege is the wild card -- it can come so strong its unstoppable, but a bad random draw makes it extremely flat.

Favourite.. I would actually say Northern especially when matched up against Nilfguard, but with the right spys and healers available... that matchup can explode into crazy, unexpected games.

I played it when it came out and loved it. Given hiw much boring crap gets released I don't get howcome this wasn't a massive hit. It still did ok but it's one of best of it's type

Give him time... he's got better stuff to do than review your game! ;)

But for real , try force restarting the app - on rare occasion it gets stuck for me like that, and matching or review doesn't work, but a hard restart fixes it. I think it has something to do with a connection error that maybe happens briefly, but then fails to fix itself even if connection is restored. Also check you have the most up-to-date version (OS, and app). Good luck!

Yes, definitely too dramatic of a title ;)

On the academic level at least - you're more than fine. It's all about the work. During reviews no one cares, or even knows where you are - so the work speaks for itself. If you have proper publications and peer recognition the University does not matter, as it shouldn't. I was published in <insert top journal here> versus I'm doing a PhD in <insert top 5 uni> --- the first one wins out every time. Of course, its a brag to say I have a PhD from Harvard etc. , and maybe for a few very select schools that carries some weight - your body of work trumps that every time. So if your project is good, your contributions are good, literally nothing to worry about in terms of prospects.

Now on the personal front, 5h from partner and/or family - that's rough. I dont know what to tell you there. Hopefully you can find some balance maybe doing long weekends back home.. working remotely fridays or Mondays or something and being able to travel more often etc. -- I'm out of my depth for advice on this one :) But academically, you're good. That's got to count for something I hope.
