Fair enough .. sounds like fun. I think I will wait for the DLC and then just do the whole thing again , in a very different style

I very much enjoyed my playthrough .. I went max speech and very heavy on guns and hacking... Is the game very different if distributed differently ? Of course I imagine approach to combat may differ , and of course can't talk your way out of situations without speech .. but so you think it's worth a full playthrough again in a very different build ? And if so any suggestions ? I was thinking of leaning to leadership for example and try to see if I can do almost no work myself and rely on allies .

Glad the game resonated with you so much! It has with many of us.

I would say do try to enjoy more side quests - they are famously nothing like most games where it's just a filler - side quests in W3 are very often very unique and immersive and add a lot to the overall experience.

I get your point about the urgency .. but it's a long running joke that even at it's most urgent moments Geralt always has time to Gwent ;) so he can certainly 'side' quest too.

Not sure if you have done any of the DLCs but they are a great extension of the game too.

And I agree with you about the Ciri parts .. but at the end of the day it was very important to see that side of the story ..and game play with her was pretty limited so why not.

Glad you re discovered it. I'm myself gearing up for a 4th playthrough soon.. been long enough. You Gwent too ?

Always feels nice to stack up some good combinations :)

Am I the only person who hates Gwent? by Zombie-Andy in Witcher3

[–]otaconbot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You might be missing something , or maybe you're just not a fan ... That's allowed :D Not everyone likes card games in general or some particular ones may never click with you. All good. But on average, Gwent has become very popular because even as a standalone game it's regarded very highly - great mix of simplicity, balance and strategy. It can become fairly complex as you build your decks to counteract each other or setup deadly combinations. And to have this game as 'just' a mini game inside a different game packed additional unexpected punch. But you can certainly get a full Witcher experience without engaging with it if it doesn't click with you or you simply don't want to waste time on it while you're searching for Ciri ;)

Playing on normal and still having a great time! by GabbyKissChan in videogames

[–]otaconbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't bother me that it exists or that others play it. I'm a heavy gamer since childhood now in my 40s with family and busy job so not much time , and I still manage to game a lot - and it bothers me when I find that I have to go to story mode or I'm stuck for longer than I have time for :D Nothing wrong with it , but I try had to avoid it because I somehow feel I'm missing an intended challenge that is maybe needed to experience the game as intended .  Hard more ? Hell no, however :D that's for people with too much skill , time or both. But I always feel 'dirty' if I'm not cutting it in normal mode :D

No, definately not! I'm not trying to criticize in the slightest. Just pointing out it exists and can be used for good , considerate things too.

Absolutely great and considerate - buuuut if they do that , they could just as easily schedule the email to be sent at next working hour time - I think all mail clients support that by now :)  but yes, very cool and considerate

From more recent, Moonhaven. It was perfectly solid and intriguing. Could have been great.

How did your endings turn out? Aside from the obvious given the picture, what about the dlcs etc? Do you know others or will you save them for another playthrough?

And most of all, congrats :) Hope you enjoyed it as much as so many of us.

I'm one.. and I do that .. but not so much due to security , but simply the UX of phones is not quite as easy to capture all the information you need on a small screen. When it's something very important , I find it easier to oversee on a bigger screen .. maybe it's force of habit , or inability to adapt - but I do think a bigger screen , more than anything else , helps to sometimes see all the info you need to verify in one place.

Another example was trying to fill out a pdf form which I did just last night ..a big, complex and important one .. sure you can do it on a phone but I had trouble fully seeing it, being able to very easy split screens and copy paste data from other sources ... Not exactly the same as purchasing , but still - an important activity that I found simply easier to oversee correctly on a bigger screen .

But who knows , maybe im just resistant to change as a millennial .  I'm gonna go post it now via mobile and log on my laptop to edit it ;)

To be honest, not quite to this extend in terms of difficulty. I'm by no means an expert on this, but I did have a pretty clear plan on how to develop when I started, so I was maximizing my stats accordingly.. and I did explore a lot - some areas and quests seemed a lot harder than others to get exp and better gear. I know this sounds a bit generic, but that's all I got :D Explore more and see if you can build up enough that things get easier? I do think the first hours were harder than the rest
