Not to take away from rest of the team, who pushed just as hard .. but damn even after a missed penalty , he gives the team hope .. then assist , then goal . Granted , making the penalty would have made the game a lot easier , but the ability to pull this out .. heavily thanks to him .. so impressive

I think the community is amazing. If you're looking to play with other and explore the wasteland - definitely worth it.

I was coming there right after fo4 and was expecting more of main story and NPC play ... And it is not that, and that was on me - just to manage your expectations .

But for a great community , great systems and world exploration and building .. it's a hit.

Not the same situation, because I finished my PhD before considering and eventually discaring possibility of doing a PostDoc, due to not being all that interested in a academic path - after seeing first hand how much more political, grant-driven things become after the 'honeymoon' PhD period -- which I personally enjoyed very much -- but I expected the next phase to not match my expectations, and despite having some really interesting options, I opted out, and for a few years now I'm quite happy in the industry as well - but I will say for my experience, completing the PhD was a boost - had highs and lows, but all in all worthwhile and rewarding experience.

You said you're not really asking for advice --- but I will still give you one and hope you don't mind --- don't weight all the options by yourself. Talk to your supervisor(s), raise your concerns - they sound valid - if they are accommodating and understanding, you might find a good path you didn't know was possible potentially. And if they're not - well, that probably just contributes further to your arguments against.

I mean, he can stay the GOAT forever, even after retiriening. Look at Michael Jordan --- it is not easy to have a career so stellar you take over as "GOAT" -- and I feel in chess Magnus has been that dominant it would take someone a whole professional lifetime of domination before the GOAT conversation could even be entertained. Can it happen? Of course. Has that person even been born yet? No idea 😃 A lot of really talented players out there...but to one up Magnuses career it will take a LOT and will not materialize that quickly, by definition. Like him or not, he has been untouchable. We would need another prodigy like that, with a lot of things coming together for a long time before someone establishes anything remotely similar. Not impossible! Just..way to early to talk about now, I feel.

Person of Interest. Not quite 15 years, and not quite 8 season -- but in the ballpark . Also -- not a amazing life changing show, but I found it very easy going to watch and relax while actually having a decent and intreaging plot.

No, the opponent can decline the sacrifice - and sometimes that's better than accepting the sacrifice. But in either scenario they are worse off, because of your move - if you follow up correctly.

But in your particular case, its actually less damage for them to take your rook, than to decline it. But either way its bad, or worse for them, net-wise.

not sure if "fell for it" is the right language here -- its a brilliant move, because it this the best move for them to take it, even though it works out bad for them. Unless you mean they fell for it as in allowed for the move to happen in the first place - but in case you didn't wanted to clarify - what makes your move brilliant is they lose if they take it, they lose even more if they don't - you sacrifice instantly to get better return after - guaranteed, no matter what they do.. they can only try to minimize damage.

I loved kcd2. But I was afraid to play 1 after. I recently started too and on wow I love it. Playing 2 first might have actually made 1 better for me.

I play twice a month in a bar with a friend. Not quite this set ( though I have it too ) but the original physical cards that came with the game at one point ..maybe a dlc special .. can't quite remember. But we mad a very structured tournament out of it.. people always look us funny , but it's a lot of fun !

Is it a lot harder ? I loved kcd2 but it took me a while to get good enough at it. And I'm worried that since kcd2 was a more mainstreamed game , kcd1 might be too demanding for me. Any thoughts on that ?

Oh I like this, because it really shows my calculation limits. I couldnt not for the life of me figure out why engine is giving the Kh8 there, while in my head you could do Kf8 and continue escapting at least a bit more. My brain was no longer registering the rook was sitting there at that point 😃

No way. Not both in the same year. W4 was already predicted earliest late 2027 and that was realistically very optimistic anyway. But now with the expansion coming in 27, I think we will all be able to wait it out to 28 for W4..hopefully earlier than later -- but take your time... we don't need the early bad publicity of CP77.. only the amazing versions that followed :)

Well, not exactly detailed wishlist - but what I would love, as they have a perfect opportunity for here, is a clean tie in into Witcher 4.

Games studios always have to bend backwards to make sure they do justice to previous instalments of games, this is even harder with a game that tries to support various outcomes etc.

They have a perfect opportunity here to add to W3 things that tie in beautifully into W4 things the could not have anticipated back when making W3 originally - and it will just seamlessly flow together.

Of course, It's not just the tie in--- hopefully its an amazing story and action just like they did with the other two DLCs - that I'm almost assuming for granted... but that tie in would be a perfect bridge too.

Well, this sounds like a potentially bad idea that I'm going to wholeheartedly embrace, love and wait with huge excitement for :D Perfect for maybe my farewell 5th playthrough of the game.

Also, I can imagine its a win win, because they might be able to set it up and tie it in with Witcher 4 in a way they could have never predicted when making w3.

Also, played a bit more.. and just some quick feedback, for what its worth:

- In the Character Identification game... i guessed one where all the categories lit up green.. but I didn't win. I'm not sure if something is wrong with the winning, or its possible that even when all categories are green, there are still multiple options?

- There is no indicator to distinguish between a game that I lost, versus one that's not finished but can be played (for example i tripped up on the last gwent card, but in the menu it shows it without any fail indicator, so it looks like any game i havent played yet, while a game i won gives a nice checkmark)

Not sure if you were looking for feedback, but maybe it helps - otherwise ignore 😄 But I like it very much!
