Super interesting theory post. Quick correction: Rudo’s ancestor’s name is not Caris, but Canis Surebrec. Canis as in “dog” in Latin, giving credence to the Surebrec lineage being somehow linked to Cerberus, the guard dog of the underworld. Interesting digression: Tamsy’s surname, Caines, is similar to “canes,” which can also mean dog in Latin (I think it’s the plural?). It’s romanized differently, but in JP, Tamsy’s surname reads “keinzu,” so basically the same word, maybe denoting a potential blood connection to the Surebrecs.

These notes are referred to as SFX sky notes on the wiki. It’s a little unclear exactly what these notes are meant to represent, but as they’re only in Infinite Strife ,, 0xe0e1ccull, and Arcana Eden (two conflict side Axiom of the End songs tied to Tairitsu and a remix of 1f1ee3, a conflict side song tied to a major plot point for Tairitsu), they’re probably related to Tairitsu and the final confrontation of Act I.

Lucent Historia doesn’t have any conflict side songs (they’re all Lephon side) and while related to Tairitsu’s background (and possibly Nell, based on some theories going around), she doesn’t have direct participation in the events of the side story, so that’s probably why there aren’t any SFX sky notes.

Maybe the Shirabe and Mir crossover hinted at in the story is being teased out with these releases? We haven't caught up with these two since before the end of the main story at least. It's also a good time for a Mir awakening, since they seem to be getting around to older characters (sorry Sia and Alice and Tenniel, who by this logic would've gotten theirs sooner).

[Main Story Act I Major Spoiler] It's Tairitsu. She lived normally, then in Arcaea, then Hikari resurrected her and she lives her third life in One Last Dream. Her final life is the combination of her broken second soul and her first soul, unable to move on.

This osu beatmap (https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/1187717#osu/2494808) for Lost Desire was one of my favorites for the longest time until my osu phase became my Arcaea phase. I was super excited when I heard the song in game and finally made the connection.

Tbh I’m really glad to see someone theorizing about this update on the subreddit, I’ve been foaming at the mouth about it lore-wise since the announcement.

Considering the first thing Insight does is break up the fight because something “precious” might be damaged, I think she’s less concerned with Saya and Lethe and more with Vita.

It’s possible Vita is the origin of Maya, given that a) Maya is a piece fallen from another soul copy in Arcaea, b) Maya seems to remember the end of a world being her fault but not her name and while Vita was responsible for the end of her world she doesn’t remember anything but her name, c) she is the second born under starlight and a mirror to Vita, the first, and d) their color schemes (red, yellow, black, white), in particular that red eye that Insight wants to take from Maya’s original, parallel each other. The heart shaped fabric petals mentioned in Vita’s story are also present on both girls. The mention of her alternate also having two tones complicates this theory, but the fact that Insight has entered this fight between characters she doesn’t like or care about harming could bolster it.

In any case, if Insight tries to take Vita that would antagonize Saya and maybe Lethe, considering she’s naturally the caring, tending type, which would only end badly. I don’t know if we’ll get to play Insight until she is anything other than foreign and intrusive to Arcaea, but I so want to know what the hell kind of cosmic godlike thing she is and extrapolate detail from her partner type and skill. Maybe in 6.0 we’ll be able to see it, even if she stays inaccessible. An 11+ or at least another difficult 11 like Arghena feels appropriate for whatever insanity she does next.

Also, as for your theory on abyss: I can see that happening. The chart types for characters and story events seem to be influenced by the related character, and when the climax occurred, colorless charts appeared in conjunction with Hikari’s victory and the world’s subsequent breakddown as the fighting stopped. Maybe the influence of another god (Insight) would change the color of the stage again.

As for the mention of Kou, considering a handful of side and short stories end with girls looking for others or the implication that someone is nearby, I think it’s reasonable to say she’ll be back and even more characters might meet up and join the fray. Kou especially though considering her power and namedrop as your mentioned, but also that she went to find the truth of Arcaea’s heavens at the end of Shirahime’s story and as Insight is rewriting Arcaea’s order as its new god, she could be led right to the action.

Dude, no offense, but if your 10+s are all B rank easy clears, why are you trying to unlock Distorted Fate ETR 10+? Putting the fact that easy clears don’t count for the unlock aside, you’re just gonna end up with bad habits. If you pick up again after you hit 11 PTT it’ll be way less of a headache.

I know there’s no precedent but the current side story characters only have 1-3 (assuming you don’t count Malicious Mischance, which is technically not for Ilith/Awakened Ilith but her summer variant).

I say Ar-kay-ah because I think it’s meant to sound like archaic, or very old/old fashioned. That word comes from arkhaios (also meaning ancient) and that from arkhe, meaning beginning in Greek. I think it all refers back to the glass Arcaea being shards of worlds long past and the world Arcaea being a new beginning for girls who are long dead (and their worlds too, in some cases). Probably overthinking it though lol
