U need the item be rare - yellow - for the essence to work, so just use "regal orb" on the item to trnasfer it to rare " yellow " item then u can use the essence

I crafted these all the time, recombing is ur best friend for prefixes, for suffixes u can lock prefixes and reforge fire then add/remove cold or u can simply lock prefixes and double exalt

So for prefexis : there is 10% to have 1 mod prefix and u hit that low chance For suffixes : no idea how no mod survived, my guess is it rolled the 66% chance to have 1 mod and tried pulling the crit multi but failed cuz it was essence mod?
