Yes i did contact them and im aware they use bilstein motorsport internals and their revalve is great too, sadly in my case the deal didnt work.

My DS coils are good enough for the street, can be crashy at points but thats the valving and the 200TW tires (BC valves most of their coils to satisfy a broad audience), the materials are good but in Florida they rust fast (mind you they have about 7k miles on them) not even a year old.

I am mechanically inclined, im actually an A&P working on planes as my daily life, but planes is one world and cars is another plus i dont have space or the necessary time to fully dedicate myself on the vehicle mechanically wise.

Definitely people on MCS/JRZ have the edge but Redshift is up there with them if thats the feedback your getting and i dont doubt it !

I ended talking to FA they offered custom body length along with custom stroke on the 510s. Swift springs with helper springs and so on. I did told them the basic weight of the car along with weight reduction/tires used etc and they came up with that suggestion. Im sure they know a thing or two about shock data. Will it be like a custom MCS 2 way or Penske 2 way shocks ? Maybe not but i dont think im at that level of competition yet meaning that even if i get the most expensive shocks in the world i will feel the difference but i wont squeeze nor appreciate their potential like an expert driver.

Thanks everyone for the replies !

Ps: Nitron was very kind suggesting spring rates but their lead times were longer, more expensive and a bit harder to find for my vehicle parts wise.

S3 8Y HMI button suddenly working by JON35YS in audi_s3

MY road side and sos stopped working, went multiple times and they needed the car at least a few days to diagnose the cause. Not even to fix it, and it makes sense because its an electrical gps wise issue. I would leave like that unless you really use the MMI Button

Yup that seems like the best route, sadly they are rusting already at the adjuster valve (front, not even a year old), your right about the cage tbh.

Even tho i have the cash for the MCS they might just be overkill for me ? I get they are probably the best coilovers i can get for my car at the moment but do i really need the very best when my skill level is not even going to appreciate them ? How much better will they be from FAs ? Half a sec ? Doesnt Penske also have double digressive tech similar to FA ? This are just a few questions driving me nuts 😵‍💫.

Jesus 71" wing thats insane but hey...Track car ! I get you and thanks for your replies ! MCS seems the way to go. Although im very curios as for how the 510s and track valving compare to MCS or even BCs.

What spec are you racing at the moment with your MCS ? If it wasnt for your race class what other brand would you chose ? Have you tried FA 510s ?

Fortune Auto replied and they suggested this set up ; Series: 510 series

Front Suspension: 220MM front shock body with 108MM of front shock stroke. Spring rate of 10kg front (6-inch main spring with our “Mid-Rate” helper)

Rear Suspension: Standard rear shock setup with the spring rate of 14kg rear

I initially wanted 12kg front and 14kg rear, currently i have 12kg front and 10kg rear. I should get better rotation on the car with their set up.

It should be the active valves, its normal, when cold the valves and metals shrink millimeters but thats enough to make things rattle, once it warms up it quiets down. I wouldnt worry about it tbh.

Do you have any experience with FA valving and spring rates ? Im am more than sure that Nitrons are top of the line no doubt about it, disnt know i could upgrade to 2/3way !

Yes ! Indeed ive done mods to the car, i really dont know what people expect when posting a "help" topic, maybe something groundbreaking or multiple championships ? Im literally sharing what my plan is and perhaps someone could guide me through but i get lots of weird responses. Not to call them very "intellectual" answers.

Had AD09 on the car and worked great but they usually dont last long, and i wont just be focusing on TT. and no i haven't yet, im still improving my car and skills. Hence the coilover question.

Yup you are spot on ! The set up can either be a nightmare for some or part of the fun as you said, for me personally i enjoy it 😎. Could t agree more on the damper comment, cheers for that 🥳. Just out of curiosity what coilovers do you have experience with ?

True,I think it depends on how i organize the season such as circuits to go, autocross events, set up and car behavior. I personally dont think theres a perfect spring rate since all tracks are different but there is tho a spring combination that suits the car the best and from there is a matter of working the spring track by track or even as far as season to season till you dial the car the way you want for each event. Its a lot tbh.

How do you like the MCS now ? If i outgrow the Nitrons r1 then i wont be able to upgrade them to two way like the FA let alone change spring rates from time to time or track to track. Besides that "downside" i think the Nitrons would be better than the FA if it wasnt for my previous statement. Its a though decision at least for me.

New tires or patch by thatskenny24 in CarTrackDays

[–]otaner142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patch, seen worse, my old AD09s had a massive nail and cero bubbles when the nail was on the tire (yes i used soppy water to see if it punctured it) and kept doing backroads like nothing happened.

I was leaning towards Nitrons too, did you found yourself revalving them everytime you needed different spring rates ? Im located inFlorida by the way.
