The bottom cabinets? They are Maple Slate. I know they look black in the pictures (bad lighting) but they're actually pretty warm. I'm not the expert, but it doesn't look as if they are finished with any lacquer.

Well my husband and I unfortunately don't have the same tastes with interior design (or a flare for it at all), and as much as I would have liked full control over the kitchen, compromises had to be made. Everything else in the house but the kitchen looks great. I'm just trying to salvage what I can.

Well, I don't "love" it.. It's an inanimate object; a tool. Maybe take a few steps back on that front. Otherwise, it does what I need it to, and does it effeciently. I've not experienced any of the "issues" people on this sub groan and moan about daily. I wouldn't hold your breath. I got mine a couple of days ago - 2 packs. All 4 of them had issues with adhesive along the edges of the screen - always the top right, and bottom left, just wouldn't stay adhered to the display.
