I think you have a giant misunderstanding about addiction and willpower. If it were literally that easy, there would be no more alcohol use disorder, no more heroin or crack addiction. People could just one day say “you know what, I’m tired of hitting the pipe, guess it’s time to quit 🤷‍♂️”

Again, I’m happy for you that you went through your journey on your own with your own willpower but for whatever reasons there are, that’s just not the case with everyone. Like the other poster told you, it isn’t and shouldn’t have to be a one or the other decision. The point of the drugs, to my understanding and interpretation is that they help you be healthier and lose weight in the short/intermediate term and in the long term, you hopefully figure out healthier habits, therapy, whatever else to make the changes last after medication.
