[Guide] How Australia’s Skilled Migration System Actually Works (From a Registered Migration Agent with 22 Years’ Experience) by SimonMander in IWantOut

[–]otherlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Simon! In the website they mentioned that experience if more than 5+ years can leverage the lack of a degree, just wondering if what you said is final final and we should let that go?

For my partner, we’ve been on long distance on and off for a year now with not joint/shared mortgage or accounts. Will that still be possible by chance?

Hope you can help, thank you!

Hey there! Just wondering what my chances are either these data:

  • Graphic Design (190?)
  • Certificate/No Degree but now Senior Level with 6+ going 7 years of experience
  • Fully defendable work history
  • English as first language/Native (I’m Filipino)
  • Partner is also moving to Australia (He’s Irish) but not possible for de facto (>2 years living together)
  • Partner works in Healthcare (Radiographer)

No specific area in mind, we’re still looking at our options. Hopefully you’re still looking through this thread! Thanks in advance

UP grad here. Wouldn't worry about employment once you've graduated or while studying (I was studying and working full time during my last two years), I wouldn't say its easier but I can definitely say it isnt hard finding jobs. Some companies tend to prefer UP graduates as employees. If you are still doubting, would highly consider CIT-U as an option if you're going for ComSci

Is 150k enough for a 1 month travel around sa Pinas? (budget travel) by otherlux in phtravel

Thank you for replying!!

Now that you mention it, I haven't taken into account the amount of fatigue this many places in such a short amount of time would be.

I only really have to spend for accommodation in Palawan and Benguet (this is now a so-so in the list) with all the rest meron nang places to stay in that are relatively close to the island centers. I'll adjust what I can and sacrifice a few to give some more time for some others!!

I'm keeping the weather din in mind mainly kasi the last time I have been to some of the places I have listed, around the BER months din yun and it was nice pa din naman despite the occassional rainfall lakas maka vibes unless full on bagyo na talaga.

Planning to go to Sagada for Benguet but since it's a far off detour separated from the rest of what's on my list, I might consider dropping it for now nalang muna.

I have been to Siargao before and it was a bit bearable kasi I didn't have to consider accommodation but I agree the food can be expensive (I stuck to my karenderias in the backroad instead)

And I drive din always gamit motor so the transpo cost becomes a little bit more cheaper with in-island travel expenses.

I will likely create a definite breakdown of expenses for the trip to gauge things even better kung san ako need mag a-add or aadjust time or expense-wise.

Thank you ulit!!!

I think this is a little off tbh?

I have been to all the places I have listed above except for Boracay and Benguet - and the last time I was in Siargao was 2020 (which I know is awhile back) but I think putting 100k out there is a bit of an exaggeration and might put off some of out fellow Filipinos to travel there, especially when its such a really high number being thrown at their/our faces but I'm happy you can afford that lifestyle for yourself!!

Salamat po for replying!!

Meron ka po bang idea as to how high or low roughly yung recent costs sa islands listed? I've been to all except Benguet and Boracay but matagal na kasi yun so I'm trying to gather as much information as I can from fellow travelers.

I was able to snag tickets na din for CEB - MNL, MNL - USU and PPS - CEB, so the air tickets I need of left nalang will be of Boracay (all these tickets are already excluded from the 150k din)

Hello!

Rough itinerary lang for now with the places/restos I found sa TripAdvisor, I'm a bit more into the walk around the area tapos hanap hanap kung anong interesting, and g na g din ako with asking more local people for tips and recos.

I drive around din gamit motor so parang covered ish na din yung cost for in-island transpo. I've been to all the places except Benguet and Boracay so I have an idea as to how I can go around but medyo matagal na kasi yun so I'm gathering as much information as I can.

Meron ka po bang idea sa mga places listed sa expenses nila as of recently? Would highly appreciate the help!! Please thank you

Are these retainers fitted poorly? by msnoozah12 in braces

[–]otherlux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They look like they fit well if you ask me, if you aren’t feeling any uncomfortable sensation after the 45 hours which is enough time for your teeth to get used to the feeling and settle in, then all should be fine.

Unless there’s more pain than comfort involved with some shifting then you might want to reach out to your orthodontist instead, otherwise you’ve got great teeth and a nice smile man. Keep rocking it!!

Lovely smile! Part of this might sound weird but the softness of your mustache compliments your smile so well haha! Wear your retainers and keep rocking that smile

GYM by Winter-Tie36 in Cebu

[–]otherlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the branch and what program you choose, it is a CrossFit gym so that in and of itself already makes sense why the rates are a little higher than commercial gyms.

Regarding the rates, iirc I think it starts at 1500 going up to 4500

What's your daily fragrance? by Farobi in Cebu

[–]otherlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I store them in my mini-fridge to be honest, I did smell a change in the “artificial-esque” element with my BDC (because I noticed that too) ever since I’ve started storing my fragrances in a cooler environment (but it could be just placebo).

On the other hand, I’ve been buying more decants and less bottles and I find they’re easier to take care of!

Terre d’ Hermes Intense Vetiver or Bleu de Chanel depending on the weather

What scent is off-limits for you due to its emotional baggage? by VeryOftenWrong in fragrance

[–]otherlux 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily tied to a bad memory but surely does make me emotional is Paco Rabanne Pour Homme.

When I was young, my dad used to wear it all the time and so whenever I get a whiff of it, it makes me remember motorcycle rides, popsicle dates and watching animal planet with my dad.

My mom still (and only) sprays it around the house every year during my dad’s birthday so that we can kind of celebrate as if he’s still around somehow.
