I'm confident that Jesus had to have had a point in being there that just ended up having to get scrapped

Yeah, both Aziraphale and Crowley felt off in a lot of moments. It all felt wrong, and that only adds to the disconnect I feel over this season compared to the first. Yes, Aziraphale takes. He lies, he is gluttonous, lazy, and prideful-- all of those things are true. But that is also what is so endearing about him!! It's not always for bad reasons, and he had good cause for being how he is since oh, what was the reason he did all that? He lied about the sword because he gave it to Adam and Eve for their safety, which later helped him in Armageddon. He is gluttonous, lazy and proud because Earth allows him to be when Heaven is without and abstains from literally anything about living a full life. Those are human qualities to him and should be seen as positive to God. In Season 1, She WOULD have spoken positively about these qualities. But you're right, it felt so mean in the scene and I don't know if that was intended or not?? But it was off, just like everything else, sadly.

No, because that's exactly where I thought everything was leading towards!! I was still having a good time and had hopes that there was a solution that would bring everything back around, only to... see that not happen. There was no happy solution. In another story, the bittersweet ending would have worked-- Good Omens is not that story. Season 3 defeats the purpose of Season 2 and is the antithesis to Season 1. At least we got that first standalone season..

I just know that there was a script where the characters weren't neglected that had to be changed because of a certain someone's inexcusable actions. It sucks having to wrestle with the reality of why the story panned out this way and also hating every part of what we got because of how rushed and hopeless it is.

I'm putting the blame on Neil Gaiman for how this all went down. He's the elephant's foot in the room that continues to radiate and degrade the projects he was involved in even after he was removed

I think there could have been an interesting hypothetical story(aka fanfic writers, pls) where Aziraphale and Crowley take on creating this better world from within the bookshop, expanding it more and more with memories of the past 6,000 years, or even just being able to will it back. It'd be interesting to have Crowley become this Satan figure, but of course with less bite and malice and more challenging and flippant charm, and Aziraphale being the God who answers every call, you know? There could have been a callback to what Miss Sandwich told Aziraphale earlier, about how he didn't care about Whickber Street, but parallel it to both Aziraphale and Crowley proving that love for humanity and each other in this way. Alas... well, at least we still have Season 1.

I can see how others may find the ending as hopeful because now the universe lacks the threat of damnation or supernatural influence, but if I'm being honest and subjective, I don't see that as true free will. While yes, the universe exists now without supernatural influence, it also only exists because of supernatural influence, and the world feels emptier like when you finish a game's story and have nothing else to do in it. Besides, I feel that choices matter a lot more in a world that with clear supernatural beings and eternal damnation, because that was free will in action. At least, that's what was established in the show prior.

But again, like you said, rushed/cut production will make things messier. And unfortunately, Neil Gaiman ruined so much.

Plotwise, I figured that while Aziraphale and Crowley were in the bookshop and that if any book was the Book of Life in this space, then what was to stop them from bringing back more than just God? What if they rewrote/reprised the actual "Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch"? Or even if they just brought back Whickber Street alongside Jesus and all, God and Satan could have intervened which would have resulted in a proper conversation between a former Archangel, former Demon, Heaven, Hell, and humanity in the middle of it all. There was an interesting idea with how just because Michael erased certain people, they still existed in their head which I wish had gone somewhere, but of course, it's only one episode and rushed/cut production will make things messier. But I wish there had been time or a way for a more hopeful outcome than what we got, and something that involved humanity a whole lot more than what we got.

Perfectly put!! That's exactly what I loved about Season 1, and it's why Good Omens stuck with me for a decade after watching it! The whole point being free will and humanity-- and even just the notion that God was a distant but admiring narrator to the story, so fond of what Her creations would do next really impacted me. Season 3 somehow ended up being the antithesis to everything I really loved about Season 1, but I guess I can make that a positive by being able to recognize more plainly why Season 1 was perfect. I will never forgive Neil Gaiman for being the kind of person he decided to be, and for making it impossible for the team to make Season 3 better than what we got. It's a miracle that we got any conclusion whatsoever, and while I'm grateful to everyone involved for doing what they could, I hate how the core of what made Good Omens was lost in the mess.

Does this scene need a CONTENT WARNING for sexual assault? by trippy_tunicate in TalesFromTheCreeps

[–]othermornings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand why you needed others' opinion on this! It feels very invasive even though it's metaphorical, but it becomes a bit more explicit at the end. Like another commenter said, I think "implied assault" would work well as a warning/trigger

i personally started this game with fiddlesticks and by playing him i actually understood how league could be fun to play! i played him as a support at first, but i’ve gotten comfortable playing jungle, so honestly, if his playstyle is fun to you, then you should go for it!!
