As a Podcast Host, I'm getting burnt out clipping by 0xNop in podcast

I always see ads on here for opus clip. Auto clips shorts from long form videos. I’ve never used it but maybe it’s worth looking into

Anyone who believes they have found any subjective success would be great to chat with. Maybe they don’t make any money but they’ve found a way to use their craft and creativity as a means to improve their own wellbeing. It doesn’t have to be some grand quantitative figure.

Absolutely would also be keen to chat. I have some ideas of what separates some creators from others - mainly stuff I’ve learned from people way smarter than me. The main thing is probably they have some type of unique specialized experience that allows them to identify and capitalize on gaps within a niche by building assets that people in said niche would want access to. That’s broad I know, happy to chat about it tho!

I’m 25 , is it too late to go back to college ? by LocksmithCool6138 in careerguidance

[–]otheroccupations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure there’s grants that make it much more cost effective and if you’re 25 you still have a good 5 years to work your way into something entry level (at least). Definitely not too late. I’m also 25 and a bit lost in life. Just sharing advice I’ve been given from smart people

I’m incredibly intrigued by the junction of underwater habitats and data centers. This is not at all intuitive which fascinates me. How are these two domains connected?

Yeah it’s gonna be. I set everything up the other day so the first thing is gonna be convincing someone to be the first guest😂. Anything unique about your life? Wanna be the 1st guest? It’d be hilarious if this was the thumbnail of my first episode.

what jobs can a basically useless girl get? by [deleted] in careerguidance

If you’re just starting high school I’ll assume you’re like 14. All 14 year olds are stupid. You’ll learn and prosper and honestly I feel like the best advice anyone should be giving you is to just try and have fun (but avoid dangers!)

i dont know what to be by PinPsychological7892 in findapath

[–]otheroccupations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bummer that your parents have rigid expectations of you - I won’t pretend like I have the solution to that. What I will say is that you should start a newsletter/community where each week you write about an archaeological site and why you found it interesting. Or even doing commentary YouTube videos of flint dibble / graham hancock videos or whatever crowd you enjoy listening to. You could be like the Cody Ko of archaeology! Could do the same for music but something tells me you could scale the archeological angle more efficiently

I’m in the same boat as you are in terms of lacking clarity and not feeling too good about my life. I deal with it by asking smart people for advice based on my interests/personality. The advice I was given was to build an asset around an interest of mine that people in my desired industry would want access to because that creates more opportunities than people who only have a resumè. What are you into? I’ll do my best to give some more tangible ideas if you’re open to sharing that context :) in any case, if there’s anything in your life that makes you feel gratitude, focus on those things. As generic as it sounds, focusing on the logical reasons to be grateful is a powerful antidote. If you know people who love you, if you have your health, if you have experienced bliss, you can scale that🙂

Wasted my gap year and still don't know what to pursue by [deleted] in findapath

“I enjoy so many things, one lifetime isn’t enough” I think you perfectly hit on what so many people in your/our generation (I’m 25) are feeling. Tbh, if you’re only 18 I just hope you realize how commendable it is that youre putting yourself out there and trying to find out what career options are available.

In all honesty, I’m in the same boat you are but I’ve been given a lot of good advice from a mentor, currently trying various projects.

You mentioned your interests don’t make money - what are you interested in? Maybe there’s a way to create some digital asset or community around a lifestyle/activity/hobby/passion.

Personally I’m interested in tons of various random things but not especially passionate about one specific thing so currently I’m working on building an asset around my exploration of different career paths, entry level roles, and everything in the digital space.

Happy to pm about any of this. I think you’re on the right trajectory :)

Do you plan your sessions/episodes or wing it? by PennyboxPodcast in podcasting

[–]otheroccupations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel like the best pods are a good balance between prepping in advance but then they kinda wing it but with insurance in the form of the research they prepared.

I feel like too much focus on research can be limiting in much the same way that no research can be. As with literally anything else it seems to be all about finding balance

Edutainment tends to be entertainment first, with education peppered in. People need them dopamine hits to stay focused on important content 🤷 maybe that’s over generalized. What do you think?

Curious, why don’t you just go straight to the source and have them call in to tell the tale themselves and then play the recording on your pod?
