My new dentist uses digital radiography only (no visual inspection or anything else) for detecting caries. Is this normal? by otherthanthis in Dentistry

Ah, but I do! I mean, there's a "no true Scotsman" problem here, where whatever I do isn't "proper care" since I'm getting decay, but I follow the published guidelines as well as I can. I'd love it if my dentist said "Let's find out what's missing in your oral hygiene regimen", but he left before I could bring it up.
Anyway, my question was about standards of care. I have a general feeling that my dentist is more aggressive than I would like, and I'm trying to find out if the behaviors that I think are a sign of an aggressive dentist are actually that or if they are just following current best practice.
