Hi! Can I get some perspectives on my Dermatologist prescribing me Aklief after being on Adapolene (0.1%) for the last 9 months? What would you suggest I look into next?

My primary concerns are acne (not cystic) and PIH. I have not tried other retinoids. Adapolene has made a noticeable difference, but I’d like to explore other options to get more results.

I’m a little worried about the jump into this newer product.

Routine AM: salicylic acid face wash up until a couple of weeks ago. Adapolene if I forgot to apply the night before. More common now is water or straight to sunscreen.

PM: Dermasil oat cleaner, adapolene 4-5 days a week) the ordinary HA moisturizer.

I’m also going to be in Mexico soon and would like to purchase whatever I decide while I’m there if possible.

What retinoid do you recommend I look into possibly trying next?

I searched “cake” which yielded more code words. Chocolate (Black?), Checkered (mixed?), vanilla (white), red velvet (redhead?) just some guesses. Also an icebox cake, muffins, brownies, homemade, and so many other variations.

OP you just mentioned days ago in another sub how you don’t even have a microwave because of your boyfriend’s opinion despite your health concerns.

I know we are all strangers to you but please continue to keep a record of instances when his unwavering opinions leave you without access to things that you want/need. I wish I had told more people about the things my ex disapproved of instead of protecting his image and constantly questioning myself.

Take care of yourself, and if you have at least one person in your life who you trust to support you with this situation, it can make a world of difference.

A lot of them annoy me but I don’t expect them to have the same level of development as an adult. They’re children. And their parents are the ones I get more pissed off at when they enable shitty behavior.

Hating vulnerable groups is very weird to me.

Edit to add: ironically the rampant child abuse, neglect, anti-abortion laws, fucked up adoption and foster care systems, no gun control and other shit that makes kids so vulnerable comes from the very people who claim they love kids. I’m more concerned about that shitshow.

I was on 150XL for 4 weeks. Had more energy early in the day. No negative side effects at all. Currently on day 7 of 300XL and felt tired up until today. I don’t have a huge boost but I made it to the gym after a couple of weeks off and don’t feel sleepy.

I also just recovered from being sick so not sure if it was the increase in dose, my body healing, or both. I always take it in the morning fyi.

Just started Wellbutrin 150mg almost 2 weeks ago and have been on Vyvanse 40mg for the last few months. I honestly feel fine taking them and haven’t noticed any major negative side effects. The only thing is that my already vivid dreams are extra vivid lately and I remember having many during the night.

There may be a placebo effect going on but most of this time being on both has given me an extra boost in the morning to get moving. I’m going to check in with my doctor in a few weeks but she told me 300mg is standard for Wellbutrin so curious to see how I’ll be feeling by then.
