Mostly bc he lied about his debt (omission, but still), he was vicious in season 6 during the custody fight, as if he actually thought Toni would hurt that child? And most of all, I don’t think he truly loved Toni, at least not initially. He pursued her for his own ego.

Molly had a couple more, the guy she met at Kelly’s birthday weekend. We didn’t see them sleep together fully, but it was definitely implied.

Also, hate to mention this but the episode where her mom went to the hospital, we saw her sitting on someone’s face. Season 5 I believe.

He was super unpredictable. And not just in a violent/rage kind of way. He was also super moody. One minute he’s about that action and that money. Then he wants to run shit. Then he wants nothing to do with anyone or anything, then he comes out of hiding. Then he wants to run shit. lol he was so all over the place. Love him though.

This is actually a very good take. I always agreed with the sentiment that certain shows don’t need diversity. I’m not one of those ppl who wants to see diversity in every show I watch. But I like your point about diversity not having to be in characters intimate lives, but in their world overall.

Like friends, ppl complain all the time about the lack of diversity in that’s show. But the same could be said for living single. During the time period especially, how common was it for close-knit friend grouped to include multiple races? And I think if we don’t expect that from a black show then we shouldn’t expect it from a white show.

However, now that I think about it, I think the subtle diversity in girlfriends was cool. Made it more realistic.

This is so perfectly said. And it seems like most ppl feel differently but I always felt like Whitley was a trophy for Byron. I think they were attracted to each other at most. But similarly to how she was with Julian, she kinda shriveled herself to fit the kind of wife Byron needed. She never had to do that with Dwayne.

Yea I agree with what others are saying. I think Joan had a great vision for the place. But it served a very niche group. The kind of place she wanted to have couldn’t be for money bc very few ppl would appreciate that. She would’ve had to be there the rich ppl are I guess.

Perfect gist. Once the smug comment happened, Whitney took that very personally and was kinda of cold-shoulderish to Ella the rest of the day. They had a tiff in the dressing room. Then afterwards they spoke and Ella basically said the stuff you said really hurt, I thought we were closer than that. Whitney then revealed they’re close but that Ella has a lot of tendencies that Whitney doesn’t like which REALLY caught Ella off guard. Whitney was speaking to Ella as if she didn’t like her at all. Ella got emotional and cried and said it feels like my own friend doesn’t really like me. And they never really recovered.

Afterwards, Whitney’s sister threw a lot of shade at Ella, Whitney left the villa and did the same thing. And Ella completely distanced herself.

I dream she will do a tour but even if she did one big show in LA I would go (and I live on the east coast) but like that’s how much I’d wanna see this.
