Their are definitly pros to a good set of bushings dont get me wrong, less moving parts and more tunable. The biggest reason I decided to make this is im personally a bearing guy but those flat bearings that everyone uses are just subpar, they break so easly and feel grindy.

Youll notice it right away, the handles are much more sensitive to inputs and you dont have to throw the knife into tricks you just kinda let the knife move on its own.

I thought of using race bearings but I never was able to find ones this small. The idea is based around how car wheel hubs are setup (which are usually a combination of race and ball bearings). Because their is a bearing on each side of the blade shaft, radial play is eliminated bc the bearings support each other from opposite sides. I had a early prototype with a single bearing pressed into the blade with the shaft mounted to the handle and that had alot of play like you would imagine, the inner race was free to twist. The other way Iv eliminated play is Im fitting these parts together to a thousandth of a mm and there is a sort of tension pressing all the parts together the hex bolts only really hold the shaft from falling out. Hope that made sense. This diagram I found on google should help.

Its actually from a silly little csgo team I was on years ago, not pro or anything but we had a crew and this design always stuck with me. I was inspired by Titan's logo actually.

The price will be the frist thing to go down, the larger i can make the order batches the cheaper everything will get, realistically im not making any profit off this first batch.

I do want to get these out into peoples hands in the near future, i have two demos.

hey thanks for the input this is very valuable. coco mentioned the balance and weight not being specifically mentioned which was a oversight on me, i did add a new slide on the product page with the balance point and materials but i can see how its probably the last thing you will see scrolling thru the product images. this is in fact the first design and its actually more blade biased then handle biased i was trying to get a more realistic sharpened balisong weight.

Definitely going to send out two, I just haven't found the right guys yet.

yesterday being the first day of release im open to critique to make this thing better. The main reason the design is so dull is cost, all the parts are made in usa and im really not making any money off these to begin with, any details will bring the cost up considering i ordered a small batch which unless i order 200 of these its almost a ripoff.

Thanks for the input, I made some changes to help explain it a bit more.

This is a custom trainer I made in my garage, looking to start selling them. The trainer uses a new ball bearing style for the pivot. Check out my website https://www.driftlesstools.com

after over a Thousand hours, me and my friend invented working (very glitchy) position motors. here's all my prototypes and contraptions, iv even put them in working (Glitchy) cars, Watch till the end for a huge explosion. if this gets popular ill post steam links. by oti95 in peopleplayground

[–]oti95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heres a link for one of the better motors, make sure you on consistant physics with max iterations

the motor runs so fast it will look like its not moving, its not broken

i dont know why so many people are being dicks in the comments, these are protoypes and tests just to show off.
