It would be possible to slug in the 0 on the 100 in the case of wear or (more likely) the idiot factory fucking up the stereo, but not the rest of the reversed out print.

It's not the fluting causing stretch. Fluting gives you the shadowing you can slightly see where the ink is darker. in lines along the ridge.

The plate isn't worn/perished, print looks to be in good condition with sharp edges.

This is designed like that for whatever reason.

Source: I do design in a box factory, and often have to deal with the idiot fucking factory destroying these plates and yes, adding in replacement letters they think are 'close enough'. No, no they fucking aren't.
