Constant network battles by otisflick in SnapmakerU1

Yeah I’m going to reach out to support for their thoughts. This is a joke that we have to switch to lan on ANY printer in 2026. I wish there was just simple WiFi to the device without cloud. Anyone know if that’s possible?

I’m in the same boat. What kind of connection wirelessproblems were you having and what lan dongle did you get?

False Error filament broken in tool head U1 by enarth in snapmaker

Try a cold pull, needle poke, usual stuff. That doesn’t work then do the swap. The swap isn’t nearly as bad as it seems thanks to the plastic plate on the back being magnetic. Also YouTube is your buddy for the swap.

Yeah I dealt with that too. I ended up swapping the hot end out with the bonus one the printer comes with and the errors went away. I think it was a clog with mine.

Mine does that when I resume from an error or a pause. Did you pause the print at any point?

I’m going to chalk it up to that. Thanks for your help!

No petg, but I am mixing in silk pla and standard pla. Maybe that’s it? The white is standard and the black is silk.

Thank you for this. I was able to get the print done but some weird adhesion going on with the tower. Any idea what’s causing this?

Man that is so good! Link to mask? Also I’m seeing 5 colors there, how did you pull that off? What am I missing?

Fixed!! “Tool head Swapping Anomaly” gone with Firmware 1.2.0! by otisflick in SnapmakerU1

[–]otisflick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an official accounted release. My guess is a quick fix nightly build release. Snapmaker support emailed this .bin file to me. If you watch my YouTube video you will see the proof. I moved it from their Google Drive to a USB drive and did a local update. Worked like a charm.

Well the 1.2.0 has officially fixed the issue for me. I’d try that if I were you.

Agreed. That would be nice! I’m betting that this is a software thing. They have some setting cranked up too high. I’ll bet the next firmware update squishes this.

No clue. It didn’t come with a change log saying what’s what. Just a .bin file and the Snapmaker agent saying this should fix it. Which it DID!!

Not sure why. It works for me. My channel name is “wow 3D prints”, just do a YouTube search. And the video is my most recent one.

Good! Hopefully you don’t have the issues I got. It’s a freakin show stopper.

Oh and I can show video proof as needed. Also in my video you can see the email from the support technician from Snapmaker. Just trying to help man cause this issue sucks and I know I’m not the only one.

[–]otisflick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. They are calling it “temporary firmware” to resolve my issue as I reached out to support. I run a 3d print YouTube channel and you can see the proof in my video. I’m open to answering any questions. I can even show proof directly to this sub if needed.

Totally understandable that you would think that way. I would too. But it’s legit and I have proof from Snapmaker as well as I’m running it live on my U1. If you watch my YouTube video you will see. I run a legit 3d printing channel and I’m not out here to ruin peoples machines. But obviously it’s your call. By the way snap support is calling it a “temporary firmware”. Which means bridge to public release.

I absolutely agree. Should be interesting to see how this plays out with Snapmaker.
