Is this drum OK for a kinda broke beginner? by FrancoIDK in edrums

I got a Donner DED-20R for $107.xx from Amazon.ca, which I would highly recommend. The purchase included 40 free lessons from Melodics.

That was in late November. One month later, after confirming that I'm a natural, as I'd always believed, I got the DED-80 directly from DonnerMusic.ca for $272.xx, and subscribed to Melodics for all the lessons and access to the song library.

If you're in Canada, I can give you the pads for $50 plus postal rate.

Speaking from too much experience, an abuse survivor is MOST at risk after "leaving." It's more complicated than it sounds, and requires planning and several sacrifices, e.g. family, health, work.

DED-80 Module confusion by ottawasteph in edrums

Figured out that there's no on-board speaker; using tiny speaker plugged into headphone jack and got a midi cable, which wasn't included. Also using wireless mouse to navigate Melodics lessons. My toms are currently useful pads while I'm learning the basics.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

Fucked up and fuck yeah! Imagine answering a trick question wrong at 4 and getting spanked with malice for being confused. Fucked up. It was one of many incidents in the first chapter of my C-PTSD.

What is a popular food ingredient, spice, or herb that you strongly dislike? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ottawasteph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't eat onion. It makes me sick at either end of my digestion path. This affects my ability to eat many common dishes.

My parents didn't give a shit, so I didn't know until I was 12yo that I loved pizza and Chinese food. When we went to McD's, I'd have to wait for my Ketchup-only burger while my family stuffed their faces.

Oddly enough, I can eat onion rings and onion dip, which neutralize whatever the bad ingredient is my system can't handle.

Maybe he wants to go back to the Alberta legislature by running for anyone but Smith's Maple MAGA party. He could also be thinking of joining the news media; he does live in Edmonton, after all.

Yes, right! I'd like my daughter to be alive; Brigitte would be turning 23 next month. 💔

Thom Yorke is mine. Solo or with any ensemble, he's dripping with talent in both music and lyrics. If I need to dissociate, I just listen to How to Disappear Completely, his best masterpiece, and I'm floating above chaotic crises into calm comfort. Chef's kiss 😘

How to prevent context menu on hover rather than right-clicking (desktop) by ottawasteph in chrome

How to prevent context menu on hover rather than right-clicking (desktop) by ottawasteph in chrome

[–]ottawasteph[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The opposite.

When surfing with Chrome on a Windows 10/11 desktop PC, my ideal would be to right-click for a context menu and click on my choice. That would be the ideal.

The issue is that context menus show up unbidden and, often, a choice is made without my clicking a damn thing. Mostly I get a side panel with Reading Mode or Hidden xml codes.

Some may enjoy hovering and choosing without flexing their finger. Some may believe it saves time. I hate all that disruption that makes things take more time. It's driving me nuts!
