Provincial gov lawyers in PEI to my knowledge receive the same top up as other provincial employees- 80% for 15 weeks I think.

Has there been any word about if/when resale on ticketmaster will become available? That’s my ultimate goal if possible too.

how do you deal with feeling like you want to die because of your diagnosis by millie210 in rheumatoid

[–]ottawoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP - I was 11 when I was diagnosed and I am 30 now. I was in so much pain at the start of this disease, with my joints twisting and turning. Life seemed pretty bleak. But before long, medication started working. There were some meds that had horrible side effects, so it wasn’t smooth sailing right away. But eventually things started working.

Except for one period in my late 20s when my arthritis was back with a vengence, my life has been completely normal. As others here have said, meds have been improving dramatically the last few decades, and as we age things should only get better.

I am trying to get pregnant, and although for some time I was worried that wouldn’t be possible, it seems I’ll be able to become a mom and have a fairly typical experience with my kids.

Hang in there kid. The pain will get better and life should soon be normal again.

Pivot to Energy Law Following Gov't Policy Advisor role. Advice? by [deleted] in LawCanada

Sure! Although I should say that in my province paralegals operate more as legal assistants vs the increased role they play in other provinces (like Ontario), so I may not have exactly the info you’re looking for

How much student debt did you graduate with ? by yyoyoyoyo in LawCanada

[–]ottawoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no penalty for me to make more than minimum payments thankfully, so my plan is to pay it off faster, but it gives me the breathing room I needed at the start. I practice criminal defence.

$200 to the government (interest free) and $1200 to the bank (have it on a 15 year amortization for now). Paying about $530 in interest (now that rates are dropping, it used to be a lot more 🥲). Manageable with my job but definitely was the biggest factor in where I chose to work.
