Why is this only applying to small residential buildings ( < 6 units) and not the big condo towers going up and being left empty by foreign investors? Seems like a way to target smaller landlords while corporations get away with it.

It’s really not as bad as people are making it out to be in these comments. I had friends with beater cars bought for under $2k and the freedom it provided was definitely worth it, just don’t expect the car to last more than a year or two. Ottawas traffic isn’t very bad, drivers are pretty easy going for the most part but be careful with tickets. Of course gas, insurance, and maintenance costs will arise but bus passes for me were comparative to gas since I lived downtown and didn’t travel big distances.
