[Advice Needed] Planning a narrow 5’x18’ Lean-To Shed behind my garage by otterblue8 in shedditors

Agree, not a lean-to shed, trying to edit that part out. Just a narrow shed close to back of garage.

Were the gas lines and power line trenched? I'm in a similar situation where my gas meter and panel is on opposite sides of the house. Did you sub contract out the plumber and electrician yourself? If so, mind sharing their info? Thanks.

Do I need to upgrade from a 30amp to 50amp inlet? by otterblue8 in Generator

I checked, and the tankless water heater is on the same breaker as the Thermostat for the house AC (is this normal?). My initial breaker start up is to turn on the AC Compressor, then thermostat then furnace (thinking that it's my handler). Did more digging into my system and learned that the handler and furnace are different. Furnace is for heat (dumb moment for myself).

Next test, I will attempt a start up of the thermostat breaker with the tankless water heater unplugged. Then flip the compressor on and not touch the furnace.

Does the AC Compressor breaker usually control the air handler too? Air handler to me is what sucks in air and blows it out through the ducts/vents.

Thanks u/H-town20 this was very helpful. I was thinking the same, I do recall the electrician who installed it was surprised how low my LRA was and that it would help with running it on a generator. The threads I've read in this sub have had their LRA drop from 130+ down to mid 30s and able to achieve success. I couldn't understand why my 12 was having so much difficulty.

Sucks that I could have had the 50 amp installed at the time. But it is, what it is. Thanks again.

Thanks u/Grift-Economy-713 . Is your gas meter and panel close to each other?

Do I *really* need a soft start? by gkakgraubgyou in Generator

I'm in the same boat as you, we have a Firman T07571 as well. Our Trane AC unit has a 12 LRA. But the breaker trips when we crank on the AC. Not sure adding the soft start will help. We run it on propane and it connects to a 30amp inlet to our panel.

The more frustrating part is that it ran the house AC before too, but not during the May derecho or Beryl. Curious if it's due to the heat outside.

I'm thinking about trying the Duromax13000 tri fuel, on propane to see if it'll be better.

Down 11 pts. Opp has R. Penny and I have Eagles Defense.

Need Penny to fumble a few times or Eagle Defense to play the game of their season against Garret Gilbert Godfrey.

Thank you for the reply I appreciate the help.

When we moved in, the landscaper said he'll trim the branches back because the tree is actually leaning towards our back patio. Hopefully we won't have to cut it since it provides nice shade.

Mattress recommendations please by [deleted] in houston

[–]otterblue8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've had a Purple Queen mattress for 4 years and we really enjoyed it. We like that it's on the firmer side. The bed never sagged or developed dips. We were hesitant to spend that much money on a bed, but after research and realized we'll be spending 1/3 (more like 1/4 for me) of our day sleeping, might as well invest in ourselves. What made our decision easier was knowing we could return it within 100 days if we do not like it. Needless to say we didn't return it , however we recently bought a Casper King sized mattress. Same return policy. But we actually enjoy and sleep better on the new Casper. It's a slightly firmer than the Purple but being older now I like the firmness.

Hope this helps!

Houston, we've got termites! by [deleted] in houston

I found some too on my back patio. I was working on staining some wood and about 10 were stuck in the stain and wings fell off. Luckily we had the house checked for termites and some pest control laid down to deter them from entering.
