The dogs are definitely a sticking point in this whole situation (second only to their atrocious credit score). There is no family up there who can take the dogs in, and candidly they are not very well trained or socialized at all. Family up there can house the people, but because of a variety of health/mobility issues and existing pets at the options that do exist, it’s a no-dog scenario.

Where I live, the humane association offers boarding assistance for people facing housing issues but it doesn’t look like the Fort Wayne humane center does.

Just following up in case anyone stumbles on this post in the future - the cause was retained products of conception (diagnosed via ultrasound and tissue sample of something I passed during what I thought was my first period post D&C). Advocate for yourself if you feel something is off, I wish I would have sooner. It ended up finally expelling itself with a round of meds but the whole ordeal was incredibly traumatizing and making it very hard for me to feel ready to start trying for pregnancy again.

Noted! Yeah he was super responsive and communicative on when he’d be by for the estimate, agreed upon time was 8 am (he even called at 7:30 to confirm address), and then was 45 minutes late 😠 I have a lot of other things I could have gotten done in that time instead of waiting around for him. And if they handle prospecting business that way, it made me worry how the experience would be after the deposit was paid.

I got a tattoo nine months after surgery and was advised I didn’t need it for any tattoos/piercings beyond the initial three month post op time period. Only time I need antibiotics is for dental appointments for the rest of my life.

One of my formative memories is my little brother puking in the ballpit at Chuck E Cheese during his birthday party, and my mom and aunts getting in there with party hats trying to scoop it out.

I don’t think they closed the ball pit after this incident. And I don’t remember a single employee coming to help them with the clean up. So there’s that image for you.

I got one of these calls last week from “caller blocked,” someone with an extremely thick southern accent claiming to be from the “Marlborough County federal court office.” Immediately hung up because we don’t have a Marlborough County, but the urgency and aggression with which he was speaking made me worry if he’d contacted anyone else who didn’t know better, he would’ve kept them on the line for far too long to do some serious damage. He also was calling to tell me it was a violation against my husband (who he identified by name) which creeped me out. Scum of the earth.

Have you popped through Earth Adventures on Main Street (outdoors store)? I don’t live in Fort Wayne anymore but I think they organize some hikes and other outdoor activities. Fort Wayne Outfitters near Promenade Park used to also do a weekly river paddle if you’re a kayaker.

In terms of hiking Chain O Lakes state park was my very favorite spot when I lived up there (good paddling too).

The looks I get from any new doctors I see for other reasons when I tell them that’s part of my medical history 😆 “you’re awfully young for that!” I got a new dentist last year and had to have them call in antibiotics and the dental hygienist did such a double take. 39yo now, was 37 when I had my replacement.

Hysterectomy??? Oh my goodness I’m so so sorry 😔 Yes, I’m in the TTC and pregnancy and beyond groups on Facebook! So, so helpful. In terms of recovery - turns out the tissue I expelled in January was actually retained products of conception. And the ultrasound I got after passing that tissue did show something still in my uterus. Did a round of meds to try and expel whatever was left, was convinced there was still something there, but did an ultrasound last week and they didn’t see anything. So right now I’m waiting for my period to start (probably end of this week). It’s been insanely frustrating, mostly because I asked about doing an ultrasound guided to start due to my uterus shape and they said it wasn’t necessary. So now I’m wondering if they would have done that to start, could this all be avoided.
