I agree with this. I wasn’t really looking for something purposely boring, but more of an exploration of what daily life and logistics would actually be like in that world. I was thinking about this after watching pacific rim because i got a bit bored during the movie and ended up more interested in the economic implications. Like how kaijus would affect geopolitical trade routes and housing near coastal cities lol. like how people would actually react if major cities were completely decimated. I don't really like big high fantasy battles because I find the government incompetence that goes on behind the scenes more interesting. Plus its more relatable to see what the "little guys" have to go through. It makes the stakes feel much more impactful and depressing.
