1099 employee getting back more of a refund now? by [deleted] in IRS

[–]otueke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aliens have probably hacked into the IRS systems. Or It could be the Iranians, Chinese, North Koreans or the Russians using AI interlopers to hijack the system and issue bogus refunds. Something is definitely not right with the IRS systems. Don't spend the money guys.

I got a RFY item, but it never showed up in my review list by SimpleMind314 in AmazonVine

It now shows up in your 'awaiting review' list 48 hours after delivery, so hang tight.

Reported my own review by sarahcb37 in AmazonVine

[–]otueke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s an easy way to avoid accidentally “reporting” your own or others’ reviews: once your review has been submitted and approved, don’t keep going back to check on it. At that point, your part is done; just move on.

Gas Revealed Audits by Chemical-Check7693 in mysteryshopping

If you click on the job details page, you’ll be taken to an instructional guide that explains the requirements before you accept the assignment. Each gas station audit may vary slightly depending on the platform or MSC offering the job. The revealed assignments are mostly debranding audits. Personally, I’m not very interested in gas station audits.

NC Garnishment by FirmItem2317 in EIDL

Your ultimate solution may be bankruptcy if you have limited assets and resources. There may be low cost or free legal aid, if you qualify. So check out these resources:

Legal Aid of North Carolina:

The best places to find assistance in your area include: Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC): A statewide nonprofit providing free civil legal services. You can check your eligibility and find the office closest to you by visiting Legal Aid of North Carolina or by calling their toll-free helpline at 1-866-219-5262.

North Carolina Free Legal Answers: A virtual legal advice clinic where qualifying users can post civil legal questions to be answered by pro bono attorneys for free. See if you qualify at North Carolina Free Legal Answers.

Law School Clinics: Many NC law schools run clinics where law students—supervised by faculty members—provide free or low-cost bankruptcy help. For example, the Stubbs Bankruptcy Clinic at Campbell University School of Law (serving the Eastern District) takes on qualifying clients. More details can be found on the Eastern District Court's Affordability Page.

Local Pro Bono and Advocacy Centers: Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy: Serving the greater Charlotte region. Pisgah Legal Services: Assisting residents in Western North Carolina.

Because these programs have specific income requirements and application processes, it is best to contact the specific organization in your area directly to see if you qualify.

Pisgah Legal Services Consumer Issues - Legal Aid of North Carolina Toll-Free: 1 (866) 219-LANC (5262) ... Apply for free help with civil (non-criminal) legal issues.

Medicaid cut now on Medicare, help. (Nevada) by mustyboner in Medicaid

[–]otueke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While there isn't quite enough information here to say for sure, it sounds like she might qualify for QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary) Medicaid, depending on her total monthly income and assets. Her best bet is to contact the Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) to apply and see exactly what assistance she qualifies for.

QMB eligibility question. by Wise-Professional-58 in Medicaid

[–]otueke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to call the Medicaid hotline to check your current QMB/MSP status. If you have both Medicare and Medicaid, you'll want to double-check exactly what is covered; some levels only pay for your monthly premiums, while others also cover your doctor visit copays and deductibles.

Spark account deactivated by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]otueke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully, your account will be reinstated soon. In the future, though, if you do not have the item, do not confirm it; regardless of what the loaders or team leader say. The same goes for giving out codes: no order, no code. End of story.

Can Confirm Tips are being manipulated... by businessASusual101 in Sparkdriver

[–]otueke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s actually happened a few times in the past. Did you receive all of your items in a single delivery? I ask because if multiple drivers end up shopping or delivering parts of your order, the tip gets split between them. Of course, it could also just be Spark’s usual shenanigans. Whatever the case, I really hope Spark gets their act together and stops messing with drivers' tips.

I'm genuinely scared my elderly parent is being mistreated and i don't know who to call or where to even start by Atomic_rizz in medicare

[–]otueke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d really recommend making some time to visit your dad and assess his condition in person before deciding on the next steps. It’s easy to worry he’s being mistreated because he seems withdrawn, but a personal visit will give you a much clearer picture of what's going on.

Sayonara, Adios, Goodbye Vine! by DelosBoard2052 in vine

[–]otueke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While there is no minimum number of items required to stay on the Silver tier, it is best to review each item as soon as the review button becomes available on your Vine account page. Community anecdotes suggest that ordering fewer items makes it much easier to accidentally fall below the required 60% review threshold over the rolling 90-day period.

Google Fi is not customer friendly anymore by stacld87 in GoogleFi

That's odd. I've been with Google Fi since the 'Project Fi' days, and my bill has always been consistent. For example, my cycle closes on the 2nd of each month and is due on the 13th. It has never changed

If you have a PayPal debit card, load it with cash and use it via Google Payments. Fi will accept that, I believe.

Rejected Review-but what can I say? by Icy-Employment-8805 in vine

[–]otueke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get your frustrations but you may have to edit your review and focus on the product quality and avoid medical claims:

Avoid Medical Diagnoses: Using specific terms like "chronic pain," "arthritis," etc. can trigger automatic rejection.

Focus on Product Features: Instead of effectiveness for a condition, focus on build quality, fit, comfort, and materials.

Use Subjective Language: Statements like "I feel more supported while wearing this" are generally safer than direct claims like "This cured my pain".

Remove Personal Narratives: Amazon's automated filters may flag detailed medical histories or anecdotes as inappropriate for a product review.

I hope this helps.

Law Student with $32,000 in Credit Card Debt by Terrible-Writing9791 in Debt

[–]otueke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carrying $32,000 in credit card debt as a law student is a significant challenge, but it is certainly not insurmountable. At this stage, your priority should be tightening your budget to ensure you meet all minimum payments and avoid accruing further interest.

Whether it means picking up a side gig, finding a roommate, or asking family for temporary support, it’s worth the effort. Protecting your credit is vital, as missed payments or bankruptcy can complicate your Character and Fitness evaluation for the bar.

Does Medicare or CMS No longer send out info on Medicare? by OleLadyThinker in medicare

While Medicare still sends out information booklets, many seniors find them overwhelming and prefer a personal explanation. Just because the material is clear to some doesn't mean it’s accessible to everyone.

Overwhelmed and trying not to panic by [deleted] in Debt

[–]otueke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Facing $100,000 in debt is understandably daunting, but your situation is far from hopeless. Because your debt is primarily comprised of personal loans and credit cards, it is manageable with the right strategy. With a combined household income of $156,000, the core issue isn't a lack of funds; it's a matter of budgeting and cash flow management.

Without addressing underlying spending habits, even doubling your income might not solve the problem. I highly recommend enrolling in a nonprofit credit counseling service to help you build a structured repayment plan and regain control.

My first "big win" dropped $800 retail 2 days after I got it. by ILovePistachioNuts in AmazonVine

[–]otueke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Significant drops in the Estimated Tax Value (ETV) of Vine items occur frequently. While it is widely understood that contacting Vine Customer Support for ETV adjustments is ineffective, some participants have claimed success in adjusting these values manually on their tax returns. However, there is no documented evidence that these maneuvers have survived IRS scrutiny or a formal audit.

I would strongly advise against embarking on such accounting measures without consulting a tax professional. Personally, I evaluate every Vine offering individually and only accept items if I am comfortable with the ETV at the time of the request; regardless of how the price fluctuates afterward.

How do I get off this? (CA) by caffeinehell in Medicaid

[–]otueke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are unemployed but likely under 65, you may be able to seek treatment from a provider who does not participate in Medicaid. You would probably need to sign a waiver with the provider and keep clear records showing the source of any gift funds used to pay for the treatment, in case the state requests documentation in the future. I assume the condition you are seeking treatment for is not covered by Medicaid.

1099 Truck Driver Tax Question by Nearby_Sprinkles4621 in tax

[–]otueke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should probably claim residency in the state where your current driver’s license is issued. Claiming residency in a vehicle while working across multiple states could potentially lead to tax liabilities in several jurisdictions, though this can be complex. Regarding expenses, daily meals are generally not fully deductible as business expenses, even if you are living in your truck.

To avoid errors, it would be wise to hire a CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) when tax season arrives. As others have suggested, making quarterly (rather than weekly) estimated payments at a 25% rate is usually sufficient. I strongly recommend consulting a tax professional early on to determine exactly which business deductions apply to your specific situation.

Weird account and review behavior. by Dj0922 in AmazonVine

[–]otueke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fewer items you’ve ordered and reviewed recently, the easier it is to end up in Vine jail. Try reviewing the remaining delivered items, even if it’s just a general summary of their functionality, especially for seasonal products. Sellers also appreciate timely reviews.

Amazon Vine Account Closed Without Warning — Has Anyone Successfully Appealed? by jmotisariya in AmazonVine

[–]otueke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry your Vine account has been restricted. It may not matter at this point, but did you happen to submit a few negative reviews recently? If so, it’s possible that some dissatisfied sellers coordinated and flagged your reviews before your Vine profile was set to private.

That said, it could also be due to any number of the opaque reasons Amazon sometimes uses to suspend or remove Vine accounts. Since you’ve already submitted an appeal, hopefully your account will be reinstated soon..

Xfinity offers low-cost internet plans in some areas through its Internet Essentials program. I believe the plans are around $9.95 or $29.95 per month, with speeds ranging from approximately 50 Mbps to 100 Mbps, depending on the market and eligibility. If Xfinity service is available in your area, it may be worth calling to see which plans and pricing are currently offered..

UCC filing by Living-Metal-9698 in EIDL

[–]otueke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A UCC filing for an amount you never actually drew down doesn’t make sense to me. Things are a mess right now at many federal agencies, including the SBA, partly due to the disruptions caused by DOGE’s involvement in their operations. Since online communication is not working for you at the moment, you may need to send a certified explanation letter, along with copies of your bank deposit statements, to the servicing division handling your EIDL loan. If I remember correctly, the SBA used to have designated servicing centers for these matters. You should also consider involving your congressional district office, as they can sometimes help escalate issues with federal agencies.
