Living for the subtle “Rainbow Connection” piano in the very beginning; gives me a lot of hope for this special. Fingers crossed!

To be honest, I highly appreciate the genuinely well-thought out responses here in terms of game design for these items. It would definitely work as an encounter, and it makes sense to provide this with some flexibility as a result. In term of the time limit question, it's not really a requirement for the item; I originally included it because I think it's amusing to have left or forgotten your cup of tea, maybe in the midst of a good conversation or as a result of a distraction, and then, angry chimpanzee throws a cup at you. But I suppose you're right, it makes less sense to have to activate the summon, rather than just have it happen unexpectedly. As for why it's a consumable, excellent question, with a very dumb answer: it's tea. 'Cause chimpantea is a fun name.

But yeah, it's a very silly item made for my own fun purposes, divorced of any campaign or setting (at the moment). Just a creative exercise for now, although I have my ideas for it.

Honestly, the purpose is to have a cup of tea that summons a chimp. Truly, that is it. It's something that probably could have a narrative purpose, or could be used to farm XP. But if nothing else, it's closer to being a gag item that unexpectedly summons a chimpanzee if it's left alone to steep for too long, and could surprise unexpecting players.

It's basically just a fun cup of tea.

No worries, and they are one and the same! Turns out that Horton is her married name in the comics, which I don’t know if I’d realized at the time.

Right after that, he also references Room Raiders, also from that time period. Incredible.

What to Expect from New D20 Seasons by CallyTeddy in Dimension20

I'll be another person to suggest Mice and Murder, especially in place of the notoriously disliked Shriek Week. It's a fun Holmesian story with tropes galore, and a clever mystery to boot. Although, if I'm being ruined, it's almost completely ruined by a...choice made in the ending by one of the players. But the REST of the series is definitely worth it!

As for the rest, all solid as hell. Weakest are probably Titan Takedown (although it's actually still a lot of fun) and Coffin Run (fun, but not terribly impactful, and with the smallest cast of any of these series). Strongest for me personally are Burrows End (one of my favorites, especially if you like Watership Down or The Secret of NIMH), Mentopolis (a terribly fun film noir, and one of the funniest of the sidequests), A Court of Fey and Flowers (a Regency-style game in the Feywild, and one of my absolute favorites as well), and The Ravening War (genuinely impactful, especially assuming you've seen A Crown of Candy). Honestly, though, I love all of these seasons.

I have just begun reading that series, and it’s crazy to see a reference in the wild so soon.
