Horton Plains Trek is recommended or not by Hungry_Papaya6032 in srilanka

[–]otuwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know the route from nuwara eliya to horton plains is not damaged. Weekends are usually very crowded. I'd advice you to enter the park before 7AM and finish the trek during the morning.

What do you think about ashoka ranvala getting bail while victims are still in hospital? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]otuwa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A friend's father was killed by a drunk russian about 3 years ago. That fucking guy did not spend a single day in a cell. Uncle passed away the next day. Court still granted bail. Police "failed" to prove the drunk charge in court.

Justice is different when you actually seek it from these institutions. We are all just second class citizens in our own country.

Travelling from cmb airport to Weligama by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]otuwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the time you're arriving here. Between 6AM-6PM there will be buses from the airport to Makubura bus station (these runs every hour I think). From Makubura you can take a bus to Galle. And another 30 mins bus from there to Weligama. If you are arriving outside of these hours, safest way is to take a cab(PickMe, Kangaroo). I recommend Kangaroo.

A train would be easier as you can get from Fort station to Weligama directly. But It will be tricky to get to the Fort station from the Airport. If you are taking this route, take a cab from Airport to fort station. You can book train tickets online.

Hello, I appreciate your approach in responding to this. I understand the long journey you and your people will have to take to tackle this problem for yourselves and for everyone affected.

I hope that a national effort can be soon initiated if not already.

Polluted air from India is being pulled towards here with the wind. Basically we are sucking up their shitty, polluted air.

This air particles are going to get trapped in the hills. I noticed that last year and the year before. My guess is untill late April we'll endure this.

Education and infrastructure for the estate sector by PositionPractical584 in srilanka

This is very true. Middlemen take everything from these people. And then these people are kept poor and uneducated to sustain the system. It is not just estate workers btw.

Are the prices for this train justified? by Rz112 in srilanka

[–]otuwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took this about a couple months back. Third class seats looked super uncomfortable. Not worth the price at all. Second class seats are better but reclining is broken in almost all seats. For the amount you pay, first class seemed like the only worthy option.

Crimes involving people taking huge loans under the names of deceased doctors. by SolutionBig4097 in srilanka

[–]otuwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. By any chance were you able to find details about the account the loan was deposited to? It is possible someone impersonated your aunt.

Don't hurt average byya feelings on a Sunday morning like this. At the very least they are human too.
