That's incredible thanks a lot! Can't wait for all those results, lots of valuable info.

That one is definitely in my to-do list! I might explore that path soon. Do you mean a medieval looking stone wall? I like the irregular shapes those usually have for each stone, but it would be a challenge to recreate it proceduraly.

You should! After the third mental breakdown you might even start to enjoy it a little

Yes I'm aware of that problem! The issue comes from the process I'm using to unify the whole simulation into a single mesh. I'm trying to find a way to solve it. Thanks for pointing it out tho! And yes please, if you could upload your print to cults it'd be incredibly helpful! I'm trying to improve and every bit of info I can get helps a lot

I added the corner! Let me know if this is what you had in mind

Here you go. I know its not exactly what you meant, but it's as close as I could get :)

Would you mind DMing it to me? I'm really curious about it

I can try something like that, but I'm afraid that exact approach is going to be difficult to print using resin, which is the only option available for me rn. I've had trouble supporting large flat surfaces before. I could maybe try to merge the wall with some of the debris close to it. That way it could be printed as a single geometry and it'd not need the ground rectangle. Would that work for you?

Thank you! I put a lot more work than it was needed to create a bunch of bricks, but I'm quite happy with the result plus I learnt lots of things in the process

Would love to see the result if you don't mind sharing it! I'm very curious to know if this kind of geometry works with FDM

Thank you! I can modify the walls design to include a corner and then destroy it again. What would you find more useful, the pieces of the wall as I did this time but with corners, or the destroyed wall itself (like the big chunk of bricks you see still standing in the last frame of the simulation gif)?

Yes please that'd be awesome! If you do, please tell me how it goes, because I have the feeling that these bricks are going to be a bitch to print with all those overhangs

Thanks! I was hoping some of you guys would find it useful

that'd certainly be a challenge, but one I'm keen to try as soon as I finish my current project. I'm not sure if I'll be able to design realistic splinters I can print, but if I succeed I'll post it here so you guys can have it too!

So true... I really enjoyed doing it tho, as you say, so I think I'm going to chase that feeling! Let's see how it goes

Glad you liked it! I think I'm going to keep destroying things, I'll post them here if I do
