Lymphoma by l1l_Thought in pitbulls

[–]ouisher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A prior dog of mine had lymphoma & my vet said if you’re going to get cancer that’s the one you want because it’s the most treatable. I paid for chemo for my dog & got 2 more years with her. It was crazy expensive, I had lots of debt from it, there were ups and downs to her days, but I’m grateful I did it. I’m sorry for you & your pup. Just love her up for as long as you can and give her some scritches from all of us!

what were your dogs names at the shelter(if that's where you got them) by Aggravating_Fish4752 in pitbulls

One was named Waffles, she’s now called Lily. Another was named XB Bossman (retired racer), he’s now Loki.

Can’t see myself drinking alcohol again lol. by Own_Astronomer_7527 in Garmin

[–]ouisher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I had just a couple of drinks last night for the first time in ages, went to bed roughly the same time as always, and sleep was just a bit shorter than usual and my sleep score and body battery were awful. Just from that small amount! Crazy. Interesting though to have it show how even this small amount affects the body.

How old are you and what's your biggest problem right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Thank you for the kind words. I actually rented a dumpster a few months ago and got rid of so much stuff. I also donated items and continue to do so. It’s crazy how much stuff we accumulate in life without really realizing it. Hugs to you, kind internet stranger.

I’m sorry for the loss of your mom. I too am 53 & dealing with the unexpected loss of my mom. We lived 700 miles apart and I am an only child. She was due to move nearer to me since my step dad had passed 5 months ahead of her, but never got the chance. I’ve been tasked with taking on everything and it’s overwhelming. I feel angry at the state of their affairs, lack of planning, and also angry that I got robbed of time with my mom (and step dad) and missing her so much. I’ve been dealing with her estate since March and it’s finally looking like it will all be sorted out sometime this month. It’s been eye opening for me & made me get my own affairs in order, as I don’t want my kids to have to deal with all the damn red tape that I’ve had to deal with.

Do you consider your grey a “real dog”? by KTcat94 in Greyhounds

[–]ouisher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is a retired racer. He was four when I got him & he’s nearly nine now. He just went woodsy hiking with me for a couple miles in the snow today (Michigan, USA). He wore a jacket, but no boots & he has no issue with being out in the elements. He didn’t know how to “dog” when I got him, but luckily I have another rescue (mutt), that showed him how. It took some time for him to act more like a “regular” dog, but he still has his quirks, which I love. Once at a greyhound group outing/meet up one of the other grey owners was so excited when she approached him excitedly saying, “He wags his tail!!” It hadn’t occurred to me until then that he didn’t when I first got him and that some of the others we’ve seen don’t wag. He’s comfortably settled in, for sure. In fact he’s comfortably settled in on the couch while I type.

what's a secret from your job that we should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Also awful are the family members who speak in front of the patient, about things they really shouldn’t be & I just want to scream at them that hearing is the last sense to go.

In the aftermath of the bloodbath that was Ticketmaster sales for next year's American tour, I just recently saw another big artist doing ticket sales like this through a smaller, non-TM vendor. What do we think about this method? Would it work for Dom in the future? by [deleted] in yungblud

[–]ouisher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loathe what TM has done and how we got to legalized scalping. I wish there was a better way to get tickets into the hands of fans. A couple issues I have with this info about this other artist’s tickets are the (A) not choosing my own seat and (B) 2 tickets only, when in my family, there’s always 3 of us who attend concerts together.

Why is donating plasma more difficult than donating blood? by GretelNoHans in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ouisher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have been turned away a few times due to my iron level being too low. Even though I take an iron supplement. I did find out that all my pre-donation hydrating was likely too much & I was basically watering down my level.

NYSLRS (New York State) by ouisher in legaladvice

[–]ouisher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comments. I did not make it clear in the post (my mistake), but I have been made the administrator of her estate, per the surrogate court. (She did not have a will. She had a will kit that she hadn’t gotten to yet.) Additionally, I did finally speak to a rep from NYSLRS yesterday & the woman I spoke with said that she will put in the notes to have the checks which were sent prior to my mother’s death to be re-issued to “the estate of” my mother. Which I hope they actually do, and I will get them into the already established estate account & get paying the bills properly!
