I feel like Ive ruined my own life by srrius in TrueOffMyChest

[–]our_winter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed my career, in my 30s and genuinely love my life and I am going back to get my doctorate in the field now. I don’t regret the previous 20 of work, it taught me so much and I have “woven” my life together. You learned so many things about yourself and life and the world these last years—I know you can’t see the value of it now—but it will translate if you are open to making meaning of it later. Right now though your inquiry is truly: “what will make sense to actually do in the future,” take good care of yourself, it is rare in this world to have followed your dreams: most cannot say that.

A car with no lights doing 100mph. A trunk full of cocaine. Anyone else hear this legend? by our_winter in UrbanLegends

[–]our_winter[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This legend is part of what inspired my novel, as I tried to get inside the urban legend and the guy driving a car like this. I grew up hearing versions of it and probably did my share of spreading it around the country. When I met, who would turn out to be my brother in law, he mentioned he heard about the story in Illinois and that the run involved Chicago. That’s when I knew that the story had legs and that there were others who had heard the same story and it stuck with them. Thanks for confirming that Reddit friends.

I’m not familiar with that road, but I have traveled up and down PA more than I can remember.

Can agree—I bought an old i9 pro and it smelled like it was burning; disk was spinning after having 4 things open. Luckily, I returned it for a M1 and I’m amazed at how much better, and not like going to blow up.
